@drinks2muchwine @CDP1882 So a man of Pakistani heritage tried to commit murder on a girl of Pakistani heritage, likely for rejecting him rather than randomly.
Oddly, I'm not all that reassured by the fact that Muslim girls are also at risk. Because the problem here is the cultural attitude to women.

Of course one big difference is that SL's family weren't expected to call for unity & supporters weren't accused of politicising his death

They were very "onside" with the racism allegation. Surely the brother should be charged with assisting an offender for how he set up a fake narrative?

The full phone call (only a extract was initially released) is very concerning: why on earth didn't the call handler ask to speak to the man they were told was being restrained, knowing he "had fallen" and was injured?

@JennyAbrevalla @Dan44jjk But I thought Palestinians mostly didn't want to leave and it was tantamount to ethnic cleansing to help them do so? I mean, that's what I was told when I asked why Egypt didn't just open its border with Gaza and save them from Israeli "genocide"?

@AjaTheEmpress @supertolerant Well, except the local police started out by criticising her for being out alone at night and said no one in Pak. would allow their sisters and daughters to travel alone so late. So blaming her family too.
If she’d been a local that likely would have been the end of it.

While performatively lecturing the world too!
