MENTAL HEALTH MATTERS
It was great to chat to Ivan Cleary & @RoseBJackson as the @PenrithPanthers premiership winning coach & NSW govt team up to tackle the state’s worsening men’s mental health crisis.
$400,000 in grants now available to community groups

@MercJestr This was a post specifically about affordable housing I think so wouldn’t make sense to say public in this context.
Can you DM me your issue and we can see if there anything we can do from our end, I’m happy to try help.
@MercJestr I mean it’s the largest investment ever in public housing by a state govt. Yeah it not everything and there’s so much more work to do, but to say I don’t talk about or prioritise public housing is just plain wrong.
Our future shouldn’t be dictated by tech billionaires.
Young people constantly share with me how algorithms and social media affect their mental health.
@kayleen87686977 I do recognise this, your son sounds like a wonderful friend. There is good that comes from online connection - finding a tribe, democratizing media, building movements. But the algorithms can genuinely be harmful for kids too. And I welcome (thoughtful) replies you so may!
Big win.
The NSW Labor Govt. has just banned no grounds evictions for residential tenancies.
This is huge step forward to make our rental laws fair for the millions of renters in our state.
@JohnRuddick2@peter_tulip Thanks John! I’ve never advocated for rent caps because although they seem attractive at first blush when rents are so high, sadly they don’t work. I’m all for increasing affordable housing supply but the Argentinian total removal of all planning controls seems a bit too far!
Different political backgrounds, same political passion: housing.
Good to catch up with New Zealand Housing Minister on our shared determination to make housing more affordable.
NSW Libs take note: action on housing can be bi-partisan 🤝
In Sydney for a couple of days on way back from Paris. Good day of meetings at Infrastructure Australia, School Infrastructure NSW, Health Infrastructure NSW and talking housing/planning reform with @RoseBJackson
I joined the ALP in 2003 and the first person I ever campaigned for was Linda Burney. And I have never stopped. She is so warm, so real, so classy.
She has just done so much as a leader in this country and for our state. She deserves every praise that will be heaped upon her as she retires from politics, and I can’t wait to see what’s next. I know she will continue to serve others in some way.
Love you Linda ❤️
@DougCameron51 Thanks Doug! Still a massive way to go - you know that first hand from the People’s Commission on Housing. QLD has been doing heaps on modular housing as well, Labor Govts being determined, creative and leaning into solutions 💪🏻
