Waiting for feminists to yell at me about how the term rape denotes violence AND under current rape law in most states, I'll beg to differ. Qualitatively, & quantitatively rape is on the rise, due to definitional expansion.

On a recent trip to Galway, I realised the adding of O's probably originated in 🇮🇪. It makes sense for differentiation purposes, when lots of folk shared the same names

When it comes to the worst outcomes of DV (serious injury/ homicide), women are at greater risk.
Not all DV is life threatening or likely to result in hospitalisation
AND many women have the supportive infrastructure to leave

While there serious situations where women are unable to leave violent men, due to high risk of immient physical harm.
Where these risk factors are absent, women need to stop defanging themselves.
