Calling for peace after Years of violence is not reconciliation — it is insulting the victims.
Since May 3, 2023, Kuki-Zo villages were systematically attacked, burned, and emptied. Innocent lives were lost, women were brutalized, and thousands were forced into relief camps. 🆘𝗧𝗿𝗮𝗴𝗶𝗰 𝗠𝘂𝗿𝗱𝗲𝗿 𝗼𝗳 𝗞𝘂𝗸𝗶 𝗪𝗼𝗺𝗮𝗻 𝗶𝗻 𝗠𝘂𝗻𝗶𝗿𝗸𝗮 killed by her #Meitei boyfriend during video calls to her parents.

In a heart-wrenching incident in Munirka, Delhi, a young woman identified as Vincy Nengneithem Khongsai, reportedly belonging to the Kuki community, was found dead on the night of October 12. Preliminary investigations suggest that she was allegedly killed by her boyfriend, who hails from the Meitei community.

According to reports, the two had frequent disputes, and on the evening of October 12, between 9:30 p.m. and 10:00 p.m., a heated argument broke out at the rented accommodation where they stayed. The altercation reportedly turned violent, resulting in Vincy being fatally attacked with a knife, her neck cut in the assault.

Tragically, as per statements from the victim’s family, the accused made a video call to Vincy’s father, forcing him to witness the horrifying act. During the call, Vincy was seen crying for help and, moments before her death, was heard saying, “I will be with God when I die,” followed by “Amen.” The family shared this heartbreaking account during her funeral service in Munirka.

Following the incident, the accused allegedly attempted to take his own life but was found critically injured after the house owner alerted the police. Authorities arrived at the scene promptly, recovering the body of the victim and rescuing the accused, who was rushed to a hospital in critical condition.

Reports confirm that Vincy’s body is currently kept at Mortuary, while the accused remains under treatment in ICU.

This tragic event has deeply shaken the Kuki community, reopening old wounds from the ongoing Manipur conflict, which erupted on May 3, 2023. Many view this incident as a grim reminder of the continued hostility and mistrust between the Kuki and Meitei communities.

And the most worrisome is some Meitei handled @SomchandraKNG is openly supporting the gruesome killing 😥

Misbehaving Outside the Newsroom is a Journalistic Misconduct

The Kuki Students’ Organisation Delhi & NCR expresses deep concern over a recent incident involving journalist @TanushreePande, who falsely claimed affiliation with the BBC. Her actions endangered a local driver’s life and demonstrated alarming disregard for safety protocols in Manipur’s sensitive conflict zone.

During her travel from Churachandpur to the buffer zone, Ms. Pandey ignored repeated warnings from both the driver and security forces, insisting on entering a Meitei-dominated area. The driver, fully aware of the risks, pleaded to turn back, but his appeals were reportedly met with offensive language. The situation escalated near a Meitei commando-controlled area, prompting the driver to turn back and safely complete the journey.

This incident underscores the grim reality that even basic freedom of movement is uncertain for locals. It also raises serious concerns about unethical journalistic conduct. Particularly disturbing is Ms. Pandey’s false claim of representing the BBC—an affiliation the BBC has publicly denied. Even more troubling, when approached by a community member, she allegedly implied she might accuse the driver of molestation—a baseless and dangerous threat.

KSO Delhi & NCR demands a formal apology from Ms. Pandey for her reckless behavior and false representations. We call on all members of the media to respect local sensitivities and adhere to safety protocols when reporting from conflict zones.

We also extend our gratitude to the many responsible journalists and media outlets who have engaged with our community respectfully in the past. Their integrity continues to foster mutual trust and understanding.

Let this incident be a call for greater accountability and ethical standards in journalism.

It's almost comical how they paint themselves as guardians of religious harmony while conveniently ignoring their own role in the mayhem. 250+ deads, 1000 injured, 40,000+ displaced, 350+ Churches/Synogues reduced to ashes.

The dramatic & sudden appeal to "respect the Indian Constitution" while simultaneously calling out specific ethnic groups as "nothing to us" is peak hypocrisy.
And let's not forget the theatrical warning to "illegal immigrants" as if they haven't been the ones stoking division all along.
