We need your help to create immersive and accessible educational experiences!
Interested in helping make science engaging and accessible to a wider audience? If so, please fill out this short survey about using sound to represent scientific data and concepts in educational shows.
🎉It's paper day!!🎉
Our latest paper explores the connection between radio spectral slopes and dust extinction in quasars using data from the uGMRT 📡

Join us on Thursday 21 November as we journey through the Universe using sound with Dr Chris Harrison @uniofnewcastle
@NCLMathsStats @STEMNewcastle
If you are in the Newcastle area, I'll be presenting a public talk on 21st at 5.30pm (Herschel Building). A multi-sensory journey to a black hole: Using sound to enhance data exploration, accessibility, and immersive education
Free, but booked tickets: https://t.co/IYRSoAKGyT
Audio Universe are delighted to announce that we have released a Portuguese version of Audio Universe: Tour of the Solar System. Please share among the Portuguese speaking community!

Heads up, cosmology fans! My first first-author paper "Cosmology on point: modelling spectroscopic tracer one-point statistics" hit the arxiv today! 🥳 https://t.co/rs81qF92iu
We are starting a hub for sonification in the city of Newcastle across Newcastle and Northumbria University. Two postdoc positions are part of this. Application deadline 6th October.

I attended the Interact Symposium today, it was great meeting and learning from so many science communication experts. I also got to run a workshop on sonification and talk about Audio Universe and our plans to make a sonification toolkit for educators and communicators!
Good morning!!! ☀️ My paper is finally published in MNRAS! We conduct the first JWST imaging study of polar dust and find that it correlates well with the radio jet, and potentially heated by it. Go check it out: https://t.co/aHF0tVKcGu #JWST#GATOS#MNRAS
Just published in #MNRAS: "Dust beyond the torus: revealing the mid-infrared heart of local Seyfert ESO 428-G14 with JWST/MIRI", Haidar et al @blackholephd . This is Fig. 1: please read the paper at https://t.co/cY3uikv2Bi #GATOS#JWST@OxfordJournals@RoyalAstroSoc
Sound on! New sonification of a black hole! Based on observations of an accretion episode in March 2018, producing energetic jets of particles and radiation. X-rays are represented as noise and visible light as a musical chord. Notice the delay between the different wavelengths!
