We see a serious escalation of events in Iran and the region.
Together with the EU, Sweden has already imposed sanctions on the Iranian regime.
We stand with the brave Iranian people. Their rights must be respected.
The Iranian regime has killed thousands of its own citizens. Sweden knows well what the Iranian regime is willing to do to innocent people, including citizens of other countries.
It is in Sweden’s and Europe’s interest that Iran is never able to develop nuclear weapons. Iran’s nuclear program and its support for terrorist groups have for a long time been a destabilizing factor.
Sweden stands by our allies. We call for restraint, the protection of civilians, and respect for international law.
Swedes in the region are urged to follow the travel advice of the Ministry for Foreign Affairs.
We are closely monitoring how Swedish security is affected. I will convene a meeting of the National Security Council to discuss the implications for Sweden and the safety of Swedish citizens.
Another cultural earthquake. Iranian female basketball team removed their hijab and posted their unveiled photo on Instagram to protest against the main pillar of a gender apartheid regime.
They published the photo with this slogan;
Woman Life Freedom.
