Interesting conversation came up online about how fanfiction is helping small languages stay alive. So I looked up how many fics on Ao3 were as Gaeilge (239!) only to find this absolute gem in the tags of one such fic 😂

@collieennis It was chonky but I let them be and continued on just…on the other side of the garden 😅

@collieennis I saw this spider crawl out of my tomato plants as I was pruning. Never seen anything like it?

Mícheál Ó Muircheartaigh, a giant of sports broadcasting. RIP

He took over as RTÉ Radio 1's premier radio commentator when Míchael O'Hehir retired from broadcasting in 1985.

His last All-Ireland final came in 2010, when he commentated on Cork's win over Down in the football decider, and he retired from broadcasting in October of that year.

He died in hospital this morning, aged 93.

Imelda May’s poem “You Don’t Get To Be Racist And Irish” has really summed up my thoughts this morning as I reflect on last night. 1/4

[Róisín Power @Rosie_Power]

The juxtaposition of this music while racist thugs burn and destroy Dublin, was difficult to wrap my head around and left me with a sense of utter disappointment and sadness. But this morning, I’m ready to live this music tonight and give it everything, to spread its message. 3/4

"Immigrants are destroying Dublin" - person who is literally, at this second, destroying Dublin

I’d normally love to go for lunch with you, [Work Colleague Name], but it’s Countdown semi-final day so I’ve to go home for lunch with my Mammy 😂

Just sitting here wondering if @jomcnally has some sort of beef with @Hozier, rescheduling her May show for June 30th the day after Hozier tickets go on sale 👀
