The recent passing of Queen Elizabeth, reminded me of one of the first videos I made in 1982. I had a new bulky VHS camera rarely seen in private hands back then. It was a school trip to Bathurst NSW on October 11. Police let me through their cordon possibly thinking I was media.

Stink bug - This is a species of pentatomidae (shield or stink bug). Many insects are called bugs by people but this species is a true bug. I am waiting for an expert to hopefully tell me the exact name of this species.
Stink bugs defence is to spray a pungent fluid.

November 6 - Bournda NP - A favourite sighting of mine is Tachyglossus aculeatus (Short-beaked echidna).

These monotremes (egg-laying mammals) protect themselves from possible predators by digging into the ground with spines up.

November 6 - Bournda NP - With warming weather, I wondered when I would be able to photograph a snake. I keep watch for safety and on this day I found one. It was a 1 metre long Pseudechis porphyriacus (red-bellied black snake).
