Ross Wilson

CRISPR whisperer in perpetual training. We're working to enable safe & accessible delivery of genome editing therapeutics. @igisci @UCBerkeley

I’m excited to share our report - out now in @natBME - of a new approach to CRISPR delivery that is poised to transform the way engineered T cell therapies are manufactured. Visit https://t.co/UmTBpRE8jE for “how to” details. It’s threadin’ time! (1/11) https://t.co/MujT9iue56

@chandnirao_here @AnthropicAI @DarioAmodei @mgdurrant Your perspective is spot-on IMO. I didn't think you were suggesting that the citation was missing - that's my own curiosity. It seems very odd that the Korn citation appears only at the end of the manuscript. Typically that would be prominently cited when introducing the locus.

🧬 Can CRISPR dial down α-synuclein instead of knocking it out?

MTI winners Ross Wilson & Hanqin Li aim to halt Lewy bodies with precision base editing - $90 K + full platform support.

Inaugural post! (after a long hiatus)

Last May I quit my job to build @dittobio with @Mezarque and @emilycpierce ! We turn parasite molecules into drugs for autoimmune disease, and are part of the @ycombinator W26 batch.

Thanks for betting on us @agupta

@Nicole_Paulk Nearly an hour? Tons of time to spare! 😅

@MartinPacesa Thanks, Martin!

Big news! Our team developed Neuro-PERC, a non-viral CRISPR delivery platform for genome editing of the brain. In our new preprint - https://t.co/8CL6LIs2Bu - we report efficient editing in multiple models & species, including field-first results in large animals (pigs) 🧵👇

@jacksonlab @Mizzou Huge credit to @BrigetteManohar for leading this collaborative effort based at IGI & @berkeleyMCB, which would have been impossible without major contributions from OSU's @TNeuroSci_Lab @RussellLonser and support from NIH's SCGE consortium @somaticediting

[Ross Wilson @RossWilsonLab]

@jacksonlab @Mizzou Together, these findings establish Neuro-PERC as a versatile, scalable, well-tolerated platform… as well as a promising candidate for clinical translation in neurotherapeutics. 🐭🐷🧠🧬✂️

@ScotWolfe1 @danielevanbauer @srishtiupasana Thanks to @GENbio for putting together a nice write-up on this work, which is available here: https://t.co/fLb9hxPrOR

We put our two favorite hiNLS constructs on @Addgene for anyone interested in giving them a try:

Cas9 gets an upgrade! Check out our new paper in The CRISPR Journal: https://t.co/grNWKRNYGz Eric Noel (who is on the job market!) created Cas9 constructs w/ nuclear localization signals (NLS) in the backbone, boosting genome editing activity in T cells. #CRISPR

[Ross Wilson @RossWilsonLab]

@ScotWolfe1 @danielevanbauer What did we see?
• hiNLS constructs supported high yields
• hiNLS can improve genome editing efficiency
• this was true via 2 delivery methods:
electroporation & PERC (peptide-mediated)
• more NLS is better, but only up to a point
