I think I speak for a lot of people when I say this.

For years, Sunday nights meant Top Gear. We’d sit down at 8pm and watch Jeremy Clarkson, Richard Hammond and James May do what they did best.

Now, through Clarkson’s Farm, Jeremy has introduced a whole new generation to the realities of British farming and earned the respect of millions all over again.

He’s made us laugh, he’s frustrated us, and he’s entertained us for decades.

As an update for our supporters, we shall be announcing our pre-season schedule early next week, with seven competitive fixtures planned.

Unfortunately, there will be no match against Crawley Town this summer, despite this being a long-standing tradition. Although a date had been provisionally discussed, our EFL neighbours have ultimately decided not to play any pre-season fixtures on 3G surfaces in order to reduce the risk of player injury.

We are naturally disappointed with this outcome, particularly given the strong relationship between the two clubs and Crawley Town’s use of our facilities as a backup training venue over the past 18 months.

We also appreciate that this news will be disappointing for supporters of both clubs, as this fixture has long been a valued part of the pre-season calendar.
