It’s #NHS75 today, wonderful to hear the beautiful singing voices of some of the pupils from St Philomena’s RC School earlier this afternoon outside the Education Centre @epsom_sthelier. Happy Birthday NHS.
FPH library is going to be holding an Open Day on Tuesday 27th June 10am-3pm for all clinical and non-clinical staff to showcase our facilities, services and refurbished surroundings. Come for the high quality evidence-based resources, stay for the free cake! 🍰
@samanthaclare @UKMedLibs You would be surprised at how many clinical staff don't know how to use Twitter, or aren't comfortable with it. We ran training for people to ease anxieties. #ukmedlibs
@UKMedLibs @samanthaclare It depends who you are trying to reach. If it's the more tech-savvy staff, then it would be good, but others can be concerned about their data being stolen, being trolled, how to take part etc. If it's a very busy chat, it can be tricky to keep up.I used to create a Wakelet
@samanthaclare I think different formats will be more successful for some than others. One paper notes that online JCs are better for junior staff and people who are not as keen on speaking in public. It allows them to have a voice and not be intimidated by senior staff #ukmedlibs
@UKMedLibs @samanthaclare@royalsurreyKLS Yes. I think it also depends on how specific your topic is. We were a multiprofessional JC, so the topic would be quite different from week to week, which is inclusive for AHPs on one hand, but also a more difficult sell to build up loyal joiners! #ukmedlibs
@UKMedLibs Getting buying from Senior Managers, Library Champions, or getting support from high up to put out the message that it's OK to use social media for CPD purposes would help. #ukmedlibs

@UKMedLibs I think time is a huge problem for KLS staff and the clinical staff - particularly if you are writing questions and searching for a suitable article.#ukmedlibs
