What the actual fuck are you talking about? Scottish settlement, development and governance of Canada alone is insurmountable.

When the British conquered Quebec in 1763; it was Scottish merchants who set up shop in Montreal. John Molson, James McGill, John Redpath, Simon Frobisher and Mactavish, bringing the Industrial Revolution to Canada.

They founded Molson Breweries, banking and industries. McGill founded McGill university, and the first hospital. Simon Frobisher and Mactavish built the North West Company, chief competitor to the Hudson’s Bah Company

The first steamships, industry and large scale commercial banking and trade, leadership over the construction of the Lachine canal which allowed for goods to be shipped up and down the St. Lawrence River to the rest of Canada was done by Scots. The old “Scuffs,” my 15mm American Civil War minis, have a new cantonment from IKEA.

They do some field maneuvers from time to time as I also button down Unstained Banner’s rulebook(s). I’ve been gradually learning “Liberty & Death: The American Insurrection” too from @gmtgames. That’s taking time.

The COIN Series of GMT games involve a bewildering amount of rules and exceptions, but do eventually flow. But you might as well play them single handed before you could ever explain them to an opponent who’s never done their own homework.

Despite a great “narrative” value and chess-like challenge, to me the rules are a fatal flaw to anything remotely approaching an appealing market game design. The most praiseworthy and truthful word I’ve ever heard them described as is “rewarding.” But to me that is a description loaded with a counterpart.
