Today #chilternYAC@YAC_CBA@HeritageDaily learnt the complex history of MesoAmerican cultures, before the Spanish conquest. We prepared a mini Aztec feast - we didn’t know we already knew so many Aztec words! Thanks to Doug @BucksSociety for sharing his experience & knowledge.
Q: Can you tell what it is? #chilternyac@HeritageDaily attended fabulous @YAC_CBA training on #zooarchaeology with the amazing Clare @littlebonelady, @ the York CBA De Grey HQ, Sat 19Oct. A: sheep; cat; rabbit; goose. 👍 if you got them all! Thanks to Jo & Rachel for organising.
A hive of #chilternYAC@YAC_CBA@HeritageDaily weaving activity! After learning about textiles in archaeology we made replica Viking braid wheels & tried our hand at making 7-strand braids. Surprisingly quick & very mindful! Thanks to Van our Leader & Timir our Young Leader.
The Erasmus+ Scheme is a fantastic opportunity for young people to study, teach and volunteer abroad. It’s disappointing the new Labour Govt have ruled out re-joining.
@munirawilson and I have written to the Foreign and Education Secretaries urging them to re-consider.
Excavating Sarratt lynchets in a trench of our #chilternYAC@YAC_CBA@HeritageDaily own! Thnx to @Chilterns_CHAP @Chilternstreams @ChilternsNL for organising, inviting & supervising us, & Goldingtons for access. A great day, we wanted more, so we will visit again to see progress.
BP PENSIONERS APPEAL AGAINST DENIED PENSION INCREASES
At the time of writing, around 1000 emails and letters have been sent by members of the BP Pensioner Group to the BP Pension Fund Trustees, urging them to challenge @bp_plc’s decision to deny discretionary pension increases.
Despite @bp_plc's best efforts to dodge and silence pensioners' questions during its 25 April 2024 Annual General Meeting meeting, the company won't be able to avoid the pensions debate in the House of Commons on the 2 May led by Mr Alistair Carmichael, MP.
An excellent article from the Times describes how UK pension reforms are stirring controversy. Companies eye £359 billion surplus as pensioners seek fair share amid cost of living squeeze. An emerging national scandal with BP providing the blueprint? https://t.co/0fXYwpn9Ue
IMPORTANT INFO FOR BP PENSION SCHEME MEMBERS - The BP Pensioner Group has meticulously analysed all bp’s 9 answers to the questions in the @bp_plc online pensioner information TV programme, with the results published in the link here:
