We are grateful to Equity Bank for their support.

Equity Bank visited to say pole to us. The team was led by Ms. Carol Ruto, Director Retail Banking.

The bank has donated 2,000 iron sheets to support the ongoing humanitarian and reconstruction activities in the affected areas.

Also present included Stanley Nganga (Rift Valley region General Manager) , Daisy Lagat (Rift Valley region head of operations), Stephen Mwangi ( Branch Manager Eldoret Supreme) , Lorna Rotich (Manager Eldoret main branch) , Nelly Kimeiywa(Iten Branch) and Chief officer Paul Ruto.

This morning, we received support from our corporate partner, Kenya Commercial Bank (KCB) at the county headquarters.

The team was led by its regional manager Ms. Victoria Kamuren.

We had a successful evacuation of 21 people who sustained injuries as a result of the flash floods in Endo and Sambirir Wards.

They are currently recuperating at the Moi Teaching and Referral Hospital.
Rescue efforts will continue tomorrow.
We, however, call for humanitarian assistance of food and not food items.

Those willing are encouraged to drop them at St. Barnabas Catholic Church Kimumu, DCC's office Chesoi, and Holy Family Catholic Church, Kapsowar.

I would like to thank all those who assisted us today, including the medics, drivers, the pilots, and our staff.

Update on the ongoing rescue operations in Endo, Elgeyo Marakwet County

✨ A dream comes true ✨

Last year, following the hosting of Kenyan athletes in @VilledeMiramas for the 2024 Paris @Olympics Games, @CountyEMarakwet and the French city of Miramas partnered to set up the House of Coaches project in Iten, the home of champions 🏃🏾.

This partnership aims at training promising young athletes in high-level coaching. Yesterday, we celebrated the completion of its 1st phase.

The outcome?

➡️ 12 Kenyan 🇰🇪 coaches (6 women and 6 men) were trained for one year, including 6 weeks in 🇨🇵 where they went to 8 sports clubs from Miramas and the training center CREPS @departement13 , a leading institution in high-performance sports development 🤜🏾🤛🏾.

➡️ These coaches were able to sensitize almost 1000 Kenyan teachers from Elgeyo Marakwet County 🎓 in sports development, notably anatomy, physiology, GBV, and other key topics.

💪🏾 This pilot project supports the county's will to be a critical place for high-quality competence-based coaching.

👌🏾🔥 But this journey is only the beginning.

What's next?
☑️ More talents will be detected in the county's 295 schools through grassroots competition and boot camps.
☑️ An infrastructure will be set up to host the House of Coaches.
☑️The twinning with Miramas City, including people to people exchanges, will continue.
☑️ French athletes will be encouraged to train in Iten, where high-level elite altitude camps are run, such as House 42 run by Kiprun @DecathlonKenya , @RUN_IX Athletic Center or @KecheiCenter, all of them involving French 🇨🇵 stakeholders

It was an immense pleasure to host H.E @arnaud_suquet , the French Ambassador to Kenya, in the world-renowned Home of Champions, Iten.

Our town is celebrated globally for producing an unparalleled legacy of world-beaters and record-setters in road and track races.

He will be our guest during the 4th Edition of Iten International Marathon.

Tonight was a remarkable evening in our County as our coaches from the ‘house of coaches’ program were feted.

We were honored to host the French Ambassador to Kenya H.E @arnaud_suquet during this auspicious ceremony held at Kechei Center, Iten.

Through the county government collaboration with Miramas town in France, 12 coaches were identified and trained. These coaches now act as ‘Trainer of Traineers’ to other teachers.

Through this program, we are training teacher-coaches across the county who comprises of one coach in every primary school,one coach in every JSS and one coach in every secondary school.
