@nieuwendorp_n Good comment and your math is correct but remember that a 24 lb bird doesn’t yield 24lbs of meat, more like 10-12. Also, this doesn’t count any waste. Consume may be a confusing term here. However, regardless of the amount of turkey the fact holds for Ag efficiency

Americans consumed about 700,000,000 lbs of turkey at Thanksgiving. Thanks to the hard work of farmers and those supporting them it takes 68% of the acres to grow the food for those birds than it did in 1990. Better genetics and better management equals efficiency!
