Games are nothing more than a product to investors, and if they don't resonate well on the get-go, they write it off and move on to the next one.
Most games are invested in until the release date, and then it's up to the game to make revenue to continue development.
In Highguard's case, they didn't have a Warchest of funds from a past release, and it didn't make enough money from in-game monetization to keep the lights on for a few months.
Tencent wrote it off because it didn't make money from day 1, and no other investor would look at the numbers and think it was worth a $5-10M punt to see if they could turn it around in a few months, because it was almost certainly impossible.
@TimSweeneyEpic@SBarrettBar Thanks for clarifying! I did benefit—bought Resident Evil Requiem at $52.49 vs $56.99 on Steam. But Arc Raiders and many titles still show US prices while India gets better rates.
Could Epic encourage publishers to extend similar pricing to Pakistan, given our economic situation?
@TimSweeneyEpic@SBarrettBar Hi @TimSweeneyEpic , Why doesn’t Pakistan have regional pricing like India? We pay the same USD prices as the US, which makes buying games really difficult for most of us here.
India has had INR pricing. Would Pakistan ever get PKR support or similar regional pricing i.e INR?
Why is @Fortnite always scared to make mythics good? Godzilla, Star Destroyer, and now Superman.
Just too weak...I'm running away from ppl as Superman instead of ppl running away from me. Doom was perfect. We need that!
