I was invited to watch the documentary Cookie Queens at SXSW, and it was shockingly fantastic. I really loved the doc. It was a beautifully shot, extremely well made, and extremely entertaining. Hats off to the creative team that made such a great film.
We’re deeply saddened to learn of the passing of music legend Joe Ely. To us here at Austin City Limits as well as far beyond our stage, Ely was recognized as an icon – a maverick, genre-agnostic songwriter who gave performances that alternated between touching our hearts and melting down our cameras. Ely first appeared on the show in Season 5 and went on to appear many more times through the years. “Joe Ely came out of West Texas like a rocket and shook the ACL stage like nobody before or since,” notes ACL executive producer Terry Lickona. “As far as we’re concerned, Joe was and will always be a superstar.”

@AlecOnFOX7 Weak take. Don’t hate on a QB playing a week after surgery on his hand to try to defend a sideline reporter doing a job no football fan wants to exist.
Not sure everyone who isn’t in the entertainment business understands that this is the worst possible scenario for the industry. At present the industry is in really big trouble, this would rapidly increase the speed of the decline much like the WGA and SAG strikes did in 2023.
Today, Netflix announced our acquisition of Warner Bros. Together, we’ll define the next century of storytelling, creating an extraordinary entertainment offering for audiences everywhere. https://t.co/rXPFMNIs1A
“something like a serial killer is on the loose -- international crime rings raiding American homes to blackmail, emotionally torture and then kill American boys -- and that almost no one is noticing.” Incredible journalism from @DanWetzel on a topic that needs attention.
The profile pic was a pretty girl. The DM seemed harmless - “hey.”
For Jordan DeMay, among a targeted group of teen boys, often high school athletes, this was danger coming in the middle of the night to his small, remote town.

In 2003, America was focused on a murder - and secret plan to frame the victim - involving Baylor Basketball.
The killer is now paroled. The family still seeks answers. And the whistleblower coach found a new career of integrity as a prison warden.

I have, indeed, accepted a job at ESPN as a Senior Writer, focusing on investigative reporting, news analysis and feature storytelling across multiple platforms, including podcasts and television/streaming spaces.
I want to thank Jimmy Pitaro, Burke Magnus, Chris Buckle, Mike Foss and Mike Drago for believing in me and providing this opportunity to join an incredibly talented staff.
Two decades ago a handful of us - literally - sat in a small conference room in Sunnyvale determined to turn Yahoo Sports, a bit part of what was then mostly just a search engine, into a powerful and innovative media brand. The most rewarding part, however, was the many, many (too many to name) coworkers through the years who became like family. I’m grateful for the content, the culture and the loyalty we built together.
For the passionate fans of the College Football Enquirer, thank you. The Pahd has been impossibly fun because of you. I’ll have more specific podcasting news soon.
@NFL no need to keep allowing your refs to screw every team that is playing KC, just give them the trophy now, no need to keep playing. It’s crystal clear to every NFL fan that isn’t a KC fan, that the NFL and the refs want KC to win at all cost. It’s disgusting.
This Chiefs/Texans game sums up how blatant the officiating has been to favor Mahomes and the Chiefs. Every single big play Houston has made was immediately flagged and these joke refs called a penalty. Such biased officiating totally favoring KC smh.
Tell us the refs want KC to win without telling us the refs want KC to win. Refs in the @NFL are more corrupt than Congress. Way too much power and zero accountability #HOUvsKC
Texans: get fumble recovery
Refs: “ball goes back to KC and we’re giving them 15 more yards and a first down”
Texans: get first down
Refs: “offensive pass interference on not that wide receiver even though he didn’t touch anyone”.
It’s still the first half. You can’t make this shit up.
