CCS is a suite of technologies (oxyfuel, amine, calcium looping etc.) and has various uses cases (steel, cement, ammonia, power, pulp and paper).
To cite one use case or worse, one project, to dismiss all the technologies and uses cases is unhelpful and short-sighted.
@brigittevangerv@ccsknowledge Finally, we cannot say that it has to be price driven but support the higher cost of early deployment of one or two technological pathways. Renewables are key to bringing the power sector to net-zero, and have been subsidied in early deployment stages. Same should go for others!
@brigittevangerv@ccsknowledge 2) when serious price signals are there, CCS is moving forward strongly. It is, for example, the case in Norway where it has been announced that by 2030 the cost of emitting CO2 will be at least 200 €/t. Industry is now very active in planning accordingly.
@brigittevangerv@ccsknowledge I would advise you to take a look at this video to realise why ccs is unavoidable if we are serious about net-zero and our climate targets

Urgent call to action! In this letter, we call on @Europarl_EN to support amendments ref. CO2 transport via ship, rail, barge, & truck in the #TENT Regulation. This is crucial for comprehensive EU #decarbonisation🌍🌱& regional development.

#TenTTuesday
1/ This #TenTTuesday, we chatted with research scientist @RoussanalySimon from @SINTEFenergy on why multiple #transport modalities like barge & truck are essential where transport of #CO2 via pipeline is not the most cost-efficient solution or is simply not possible🏭🌱
Watch!👇
The IPCC calls CDR an "essential element" to meet ambitious climate targets.
At the same time, there is a real risk it can be misused to delay needed mitigation. In @techreview, @JaneAFlegal and I discuss navigating the moral hazard risk of CDR: https://t.co/77NU1dR1CX 1/
Take a look at this blog discussing the work that we have done together with @AndreaRam01 on the impact of implementing CCS in the cement and steel sector on the cost and CO2 emissions of building a bridge.

CCS has often been criticized for being far too expensive as a means of reducing CO2 emissions. But is this really the case? (1/2)

Industry and R&D collaboration can result in great things - @SINTEF and @AkerCarbon is a 👌 example! Looking forward to this discussion (and continued collaboration! 🤝)
