The MCA Cubs continued their reign over District 9-5A in 2026, capturing back-to-back undefeated district championships while once again earning outstanding representation across the All-District Team.

CUBS PUNCH THEIR TICKET TO SULPHUR!! 🐾🔥

The @mcacubs battled their way to a 3-2 victory over Alexandria in the Quarterfinals and are headed to Sulphur for the Final Four!

The Cubs broke through in the bottom of the 3rd inning:

* @TraubHayden doubled down the left field line to drive in a run
* @PaigeReuther followed with an RBI double to center
* Saige Vichot added an RBI single to cap the scoring

In the circle, Paige Reuther delivered a complete-game performance to earn the win. The right-hander allowed five hits and two runs over seven innings, striking out four and walking two.

At the plate, Hayden Traub led the way, going a perfect 3-for-3.

The Cubs now advance to the Semifinals in Sulphur, where they will face the winner of John Curtis vs. Ponchatoula.

CUBS DOMINATE — 12-0 WIN OVER CADDO MAGNET!! 🐾🔥

Paige Reuther was dominant in the circle, striking out 10 batters and leading the Cubs to a 12-0 win over Caddo Magnet in five innings at Muss Bertolino. Reuther allowed just two hits, no runs, and walked one.

The Cubs broke the game open with a huge 7-run 3rd inning:

Paisley Bell doubled, driving in two
Emri Roussel singled, bringing in two
Paige Reuther capped it off with a 3-run home run to left

The scoring started in the 2nd inning:

An error brought in the first run
Shelbi Alphonso added an RBI single
Emri Roussel followed with a 3-run triple

The Cubs finished with 10 hits on the night.

The Cubs now await the winner of Alexandria vs. Teurlings Catholic, who play tomorrow evening.

CUBS SPLIT SATURDAY 📷📷
The Cubs go 1-1 on the day against a tough slate of competition.

In Game 1, the Cubs battled back late against #1 undefeated Vandebilt Catholic. Trailing most of the game, @RousselEmri delivered in a big way with a go-ahead grand slam in the top of the 7th to put the Cubs up 4-3. The Terriers responded in the bottom half to take the win.
Freshman @SavannahLedet29 made the longest appearance of her young high school career and performed well against a top-ranked opponent.

In Game 2, the Cubs’ bats came alive, recording 10 hits in a strong team win over Dutchtown. Multiple hits by:
@RousselEmri : 3-for-4, 3 runs, 1 RBI
@TraubHayden : 2-for-5, 1 run
Claire Murphy: 2-for-3, 1 run, 2 RBIs
@PaigeReuther was dominant in the circle, throwing a complete game shutout and striking out 3.

The Cubs offense was on fire, recording 34 total hits across the two games. Six Cubs finished the day batting .500 or better at the plate:

The Cubs also got a strong performance in the circle with four pitchers contributing.

The JV Cubs also beat the Patriots 6-0.

The MCA coaching staff is happy to announce major career milestones for 2 of our Juniors.
@RousselEmri : Emri has reached 100 hits in her career. Emri has been a starter for the Cubs since 8th grade and currently has 103 hits in her career as a Cub. She has been a solid bat in our lineup for the past 4 seasons.
@PaigeReuther : Paige has crossed the 200 Ks milestone. Paige had 117 Ks in her freshman season alone. Her sophomore season was cut short by injury; however, she still recorded 67 Ks. Paige currently sits at 217 total strikeouts in her career.
