Tras el Huracán María en 2017, la crisis fiscal de Puerto Rico y los terremotos de 2019-2020, el debate sobre los efectos de la gentrificación ha cobrado fuerza en la Isla. Las comunidades más pobres se han convertido en las más vulnerables, siendo víctimas de este fenómeno.
