Have written for Radio 3 and the National Trust. New book The Door-to-Door Poet published September 2025. I struggle to write less than 280 characters.
‘@RowanMcCabe is the first and only door-to-door poet. His new memoir, peppered throughout with his warm and delightful poetry, displays the best of human connection and compassion.’ A lovely review from the @PoetryBookSoc
Well that was, at least for me, very worth tuning in for. Pick of the week in The Radio Times, The Times and The Guardian. If you want to catch up, 'Who is the Door-to-Door Poet' is available now on BBC Sounds.

I'm in the @RadioTimes! A lovely double page spread about The Door-to-Door Poet and my new show on @BBCRadio4. It was dead nice talking to Fiona Hughes about everything, she'd really done her homework. Also shout out to the staff in WH Smiths for taking my picture.
I have 2 gigs left before I become a dad.
On Thursday I'm supporting @donjenkinspoet's 'Still Raving in Your 40s' at The Klurb, North Shields.
On Friday I'm doing a turn at @CheltLitFest, @TheWilsonChelt,
I will probably never have this much energy again.
✨Calling all #NorthEast#poets! We're so excited to launch the 5th annual @My_Metro Poetry Prize on @poetrydayuk.
✍️We're giving experienced and budding poets the unique opportunity to have their work displayed on posters at Longbenton Metro station.
👉Our judge this year is the incredible Rowan McCabe! Enter your poems in celebration of our beloved "Tyne and Wear" by 23.59pm on 17th October > https://t.co/pj3ktHuLhm
‘A very funny, very charming book with lots of madcap adventures which becomes a book about modern Britain in its diversity, and that’s what I love about it’ Fantastic to hear @StuartMaconie so keen on @RowanMcCabe’s The Door-to-Door Poet on Loose Ends https://t.co/RoTkljfAwO
Loose Ends last night! Very exciting to see my name on the tiny screen on my radio.
It's on BBC Sounds now. @StuartMaconie with the absolutely fantastic @NigelPlaner1, @BryKimmings, Emma-Jean Thackray and Studio Electrophonique. Plus yours truly.

Heavy shit man. I'm going to be on BBC Loose Ends tomorrow. The host is @StuartMaconie and the list of guests, amongst loads of greats, includes @NigelPlaner1! A pleasure to get to share a poem in the same room as him.
6.15pm tomorrow on @bbcradio4 . Well worth a listen I'd say.
This is me reading a poem about a long distance bro-mance, a subject I feel is tragically missing from most poesy. It's called 'Close' and I shared it on @GabyRoslin's show on @BBCLondonNews on Sunday. It's the first time I've read it out to an audience. I think it went down OK.
It’s not often we say here’s an entire radio programme dedicated to a book we’ve just published, but @Ladyannafoster’s latest episode of Secret North East on @bbcnewcastle is just that: a lovely chat with @RowanMcCabe about his book The Door-to-Door Poet https://t.co/TQ7KZv6kw5
It was great to hear @GabyRoslin so enthusiastic about @RowanMcCabe and his book The Door-to-Door Poet on @BBCLOCALRADIO’s The Make a Difference Show last week. It’s a very nice interview. Listen from 2:18 https://t.co/YEGg5Pjj10
"I've got one simple question: Why?"
Here I am on BBC Breakfast this morning with some confused presenters, talking about my new book.

Having some cheeses to celebrate a busy but fun week.
Thanks so much to everyone who has showed up, tuned in, picked up a copy and helped me get this far. It means the absolute world, it really does.
