22 attempts not in.
My yearly tweet comes around faster each and every year, which can only mean it’s #londonmarathon Ballot results day.
I’ve been applying since 2003 and I can proudly say that I’ve extended my world record unsuccessful ballot streak.
See you again in 2026
@SuperVallo @LondonMarathon Entered the ballot 21 times. Not one successful attempt. The most consecutive failed attempts from anyone worldwide*
*On the assumption that the automated "5 and in" rule was abolished on my fifth attempt.
If memory serves, the year was 2003. I entered my first London Marathon ballot.
I have done so every year since and I am yet to run it. One more rejection and that would total 20 consecutive years - I'd almost be disappointed if I don't make it 🫠
Going for my own World Record. This year’s failure makes it 20 consecutive unsuccessful London Marathon ballot attempts.
One more and I’m equalling The Undertaker’s Wrestlemania streak.

The first one to ever greet me with a smile into Pride Park Stadium six years ago and still made me laugh when I worked with him very recently. A true gentleman and will be genuinely missed. Thanks for everything, Sid!
It was with great sadness that we were informed of the passing of long-serving staff member Sid Marson over the weekend.
Sid, at the age of 91, recently conducted his final Pride Park Stadium tour and he will be greatly missed by everyone connected to the club.
Our heartfelt condolences are with Sid’s family and friends 🖤

This is a call to arms.
One final time at the City Ground this Saturday.
@Forza_Garibaldi need you to bring your scarves and play your part in a vital show of support.
Come on you Reds #NFFC
We are asking everyone to bring a scarf with them to the game on Monday evening.
Dig them out, borrow one, bring a spare for the person next to you - whatever you can do. And spread the word.
We want to fill the City Ground with your scarves on a huge, huge night.
