#garmin#beatyesterday for real! Blew through 54 in like two weeks and hit 55 today! Today was speed work. Hit 3:30 several times, almost set a new 5km PB! Feeling more and more ready for the Army Run 5km/21.1km challenge ๐
Top 1% for my age and gender. Garmin has rounded me to a 54 VOโ max before, but this time I actually hit 54.
The Ironman training is clearly paying off. Apparently I do not brag enough ๐
Stride repeats are not my favourite workout, but I absolutely crushed this one. Fast, controlled, and finished with the final repeat averaging 3:32. ๐ฅ๐โโ๏ธ
@SpoilBTheuser Nicely done breaking the 5K mark. A stitch can come from shallow breathing, so try expanding through the chest and ribcage more. Strong run, and you still make the sweaty finish look good ๐
@SpoilBTheuser The right shoes can help, are you doing any mobility or strength work alongside the running? Rolling the soles over a lacrosse ball can be uncomfortable, but it helps ease tension. Strength work for the calves, ankles, and especially glutes also matters as the distance builds.

@SpoilBTheuser Afternoon runner here ๐ I enjoy the heat. It makes the run feel properly earned. Run eight already, youโre not far from your goalโฆ until you raise it. Careful running is addictive!
Half-planned a half marathon while visiting Halifaxโturning whenever the light was red and ignoring pace except for distance. Somehow finished in 1:57:16. Halifax has now moved from my bucket list to the growing list of places where Iโve run a half. ๐
81.7 km around Ottawa. Just 9 km short of the Ironman 70.3 bike distance. My running legs are already there. Add a little more distance, sharpen the swimming, and Septemberโs race has practically finished itself.
