We are extremely angry, outraged and saddened, and express unequivocal condemnation of the unconstitutional, unjust and politically motivated life imprisonment handed down to Dr. Mahrang Baloch and Sibghatullah Baloch by the Anti-Terrorism Court, Gwadar Balochistan.

This year @AuratMarchKHI spoke against marital rape, they spoke against PECA, they spoke against exploitation of women's labor, they spoke about a universal basic income guarantee for women, they spoke about the need for shelters and maternal health benefits, they spoke about minimum wage, they spoke against thekedari system, they spoke against enforced disappearances, bonded labor, forced conversion, domestic violence, child marriages...
Yet all I see in the news cycle is the same old ghisi pitti bekar bakwas reporting. Except a few good pieces, none of what was said has made its way to the media. What a shame!
@ Pakistani Journalists: you are perhaps the most impacted by PECA alongside human rights defenders. Here is a movement, that despite a gag order, stood beside you for your rights, and this is how you fail to step up?
Pens used to write revolutions, shame that they are now used to overwrite them.
Qalam torr k phenk den aap sab. Afsos!
@SindhuSorath To be honest aurat march has always spoken about baloch women. 2000 times more than you and I don't see their politics stopping on that. There were baloch signs in the march. Pls show me when you have spoken up about baloch rights. Stop using baloch women for your own likes.
@SindhuSorath Lets be honest. You never supported the aurat march. You have called for urdu speaking people to leave sindh multiple times and Aurat March's diversity of people who speak all languages has always bothered. Pls stop rage baiting and just wanting likes on twitter
We’re raising money to transport women from working-class neighbourhoods to the March.
Aurat March takes no funding from corporations, government, political parties, or NGOs. happens every year with contributions from supporters and immense voluntary labour by feminists.
This is a complete mischaracterisation to say that the march in Lahore was "called off" for any reason-we have issued a detailed statement, & it was decided months ago that we will not march & instead do smaller events throughout the year🧵

@NYCMayor@ShireenMazari1 So the issue here is that you have taken over the mayor's X account which seems to have MAGA and right wing followers. U got to go back to your old account
@maryammjamali AM protests against rape, against violence, against poverty, asks for social security, but when I see feminists showing up and talking about not supporting PTI. I just cannot take your critique seriously sorry.
@maryammjamali I also don't believe that AM as a voluntary movement can advocate for PTI women like, PTI wants. AM did protests, wrote out statements but really it's not the movements job to take over the resistance that was required by PTI to get their women members released
@maryammjamali So to be honest, aurat march has consistently spoken about what's happening to the baloch movement for years. As someone who has followed their work. A lot of their support is on ground too, showing up to police stations getting protestors released.
@mithaychawl I am not sure I agree. Free and immense labor by women in the working class is a huge issue causing so much violence abuse and health problems in women.
I feel like we need to understand that feminist issues that the feminist movement undertakes should be for the masses.

Is this how the capital of your own country should treat its Baloch citizens? The children, who had probably never been to Islamabad before, will sadly carry another state-sponsored traumatic experience they suffered and will never forget. This is exactly why they are marching.
Today, the #MinorityRightsMarch celebrated #Christmas2023 with the Sindh Bar Council at Sindh High Court Karachi. We were joined by the Executive Committee of the Sindh Bar Council, along with other veteran lawyers and friends from the legal fraternity. 🧵
