FANS just finished installing 8 Deep Water Culture beds at Vanguard High. These beds will produce up to a total of 256 plants per month. That’s a lot of lettuce! @MCPSWellnessPE @LivengoodDC @KinardsConnect1 @dixonk2019

We partnered up with Food and Nutrition Services out at East Marion elementary yesterday. We presented to all the second graders about Farm To School. They each received their own herb kits to take home and grow their own plants! @LivengoodDC @KinardsConnect1 @MCPSWellnessPE

Today I worked with Mrs. and Mr. Zak at Dunnellon High and we planted 3,840 seedlings for secondary by hand. Farm to school is officially off to a strong start this school year! @LivengoodDC @dixonk2019 @MCPSWellnessPE

One of our goals for our Farm to School initiative is to support local farmers by using their fresh produce in our cafeterias. We spent our day laying that foundation with Crones Cradle Conserve. The future is exciting! @LivengoodDC @dixonk2019 @MCPSWellnessPE @KinardsConnect1

Mr. Fleet and I worked hard today getting the BHS greenhouse ready for August. This house is clean. 👍
