These rivers have all tested +ve for thiamethoxam since 2020 (data from Env Agency). This neonicotinoid was banned in Europe in 2018, but is allowed on sugar beet crops in UK. That is its only authorised use. Yet it is turning up in rivers all over the place... Hugely concerning.

Article on ragwort by @BBCCountryfile fails to mention the very important point that livestock simply don't eat ragwort unless it is dried and made into hay. Ragwort is a beautiful native wildflower and a fantastic resource for pollinators.

Loving the way this new experiment has turned out. Have used seaweed which I collected from my local beach in #littlehampton and then I preserved in glycerine so in theory should last indefinitely.
