So some thoughts on the charges as the media will go its a disgrace or whatever.
The offences happened 14 years ago (2012-2018). We WERE guilty of breaking the rules. Fact. Some punishment was merited.
It would be a big shock if Marina Granovskaia, Bruce Buck, Roman Abramovich, and staff at the club then did not know about it. They may not have, but thats unlikely.
This was clearly the reason for the new owners scorched earth policy when they took over, and others departing since. It wasn't a hatred of the old regime, it was ensuring the club didn't get stronger punishments for having complicit people employed - it was protecting the club.
IF Marina, Roman & co knew about it - and thats an IF - then they are complicit, and that's disgraceful. They all did great things for Chelsea, and we're all grateful but this has harmed Chelsea.
No one currently running the club was there in 2013, different owners, executives, directors, players, coaches, almost literally a different club. We self reported all offences and cooperated with the FA.
IMO sporting sanctions would not punish the guilty people.
Deducting 20 points or £100m fine or whatever people want doesn't punish the people who did this, it punishes the people who had to clear up their mess.
The Man City case is different, as it happened under their current ownership, directors and decision makers and they have not cooperated whatsoever, and did not self report. Its also more charges and different offences.
As a final point, on this stuff, I will NEVER forgive those in the media who wanted us liquidated in 2022, or have vindictively pursued an agenda to get us punished in the harshest possible way for anything they can find ever since.
Chelsea being liquidated would have meant about 1000 regular staff in regular jobs losing their livelihood and potentially their homes. Real people. Real families. And some of the media danced on our grave and on their dignity and keep doing so.
This petty agenda and hatred of our club, and double standards used against us by the media all the time, hiding a desire to see our club "humbled" or punished as harshly as possible, born of jealousy in 2003, has gone beyond any sense of decency or integrity at this point. Its pathetic.
The matter is now closed.
Up the Chels. KTBFFH. 🔵 #CFC
@YDballatd@MadMontana Arsenal’s most successful era came in the 1930s… the same period they earned the nickname “The Bank of England Club.” Funny how Chelsea get accused of “buying the league,” yet Arsenal’s golden era came with that nickname. 👀
@5h1ttyP3t3 @jacobshang0 @heneroldhcafc@LanzaArmza@NWMYT Nothing says “manly” like grabbing a ball from near another man’s arse, throwing it to a teammate, then running away from a pack of men while dressed like a Transforme
