Silver Birch class had a fabulous start to their new class enquiry 'did the Ancient Greeks invent astronomy?', with a visit from the space dome! It was very exciting to walk inside the dome and be transported to outer space!
We have enjoyed our time being back at school so far this term, and with a new academic year, comes a new set of House and Sports Captains! Congratulations to our Scots Pine children who have been elected to undertake these important roles!

Yesterday, we welcomed children from
@RoyalKentSchool for a Science and Engineering activity in which they use #Lego WeDo Kits to create working models. As you can see, there was lots of fantastic teamwork within the groups. #schoolpartnerships#outreach#lego#STEM#year4
We kicked off our STEM week in style yesterday with a visit from the ’Science Boffins’. We were treated to a whole school show to start the day, workshops for classes and then a rocket launch for everyone to watch at the end of the day! Blast off!

Huge congratulations to the amazing squad who took part in the Surrey schools gala on Saturday evening!
Their swimming was fantastic; they won their medley heat by half a length and were only just pipped to second place in freestyle medley by a fingertip! Overall they came third!
A huge congratulations to our cross country team, who competed in the Esher District event last weekend. Despite being the smallest school taking part, with all other schools two, three or even four times larger than us, our team placed 5th out of 13th schools!Well done everyone!
Thank you so much to author MG Leonard @MGLnrd who visited us to give an inspirational talk about how she writes her books, and the passions that influence them.... perhaps we will see books from some of our RKS pupils one day?!
We had so much fun celebrating World Book Day 2023! Each class choose a different author as their theme, and children selected a character from one of the author's books to dress up as... can you guess the author of each of these classes?!
Scots Pine had a really interesting learning experience this afternoon, when they were able to get a close look at a real animal heart (thanks to @simonthebutch for the donation!). The children showed impressive knowledge about the circulatory system!

In the autumn we were busy working on our Outdoor Learning Area at the rear of the school (in the place of our old 'DT hut', demolished in the summer). Despite there being some work still to complete, it looks fantastic and we can't wait until we can begin using it!
It's been a chilly start to 2023 at RKS! Luckily we are nice and warm inside the building, and plenty of running around at break times keeps us warm outside too! Thanks to the parent who captured today's beautiful sunrise!
🎄Less than one week until our Christmas Fair!🎄
Come along to The Royal Kent School on Saturday 26th November between 1-4pm to join in the festive fun. Plenty going on to keep both kids and adults busy!
We can’t wait to see you then!
Next Friday (18th November) we will be taking part in fundraising for Children in Need - the Young Leaders have decided that the children at RKS should wear 'odd' mufti to school in exchange for a donation. In this video, our Y5 and Y6 Digital Leaders explain our plans...!
