I had the privilege of attending the BJP Siaha District Workers’ Conference held at Siaha, organised by the BJP Siaha District. The conference witnessed the enthusiastic participation of Executive Committee Members from different parts of the district, along with our elected MDCs, Morcha presidents, office bearers, and dedicated karyakartas.

It was a wonderful opportunity to interact openly with our district leadership and grassroots workers, exchange ideas, review organisational activities, and discuss our future course of action. Such interactions strengthen our unity, inspire our workers, and reinforce our commitment to serving the people with dedication and sincerity.

During the programme, we also observed the Remembrance Fortnight of Dr. Shyama Prasad Mukherjee, paying tribute to his invaluable contribution to the nation and reaffirming our commitment to the ideals and vision for which he stood.

I sincerely thank the BJP Siaha District team for their warm hospitality and for successfully organising this meaningful and inspiring conference. Together, we remain committed to strengthening the organisation and working tirelessly for the progress and development of Mizoram and our nation.

At the Ambassador’s lunch, had the great pleasure of meeting two venerable academic couples who have each held India’s flag aloft in the Brazilian capital for more than half a century: Prof Vijayendra Kumar and his wife Devi, who herself taught Hindi to Brazilians; and Prof Haridas and his wide Padmaja, who hail from Palakkad district and have seen my ancestral home on a visit to Kollengode! (which explains the extra pix of them).

Prof Kumar explained that aside from the diplomats, there are only five Indian families in Brasilia’s 4 million population, something i find impossible to believe!
