The price of ethanol ranges between ₹56.71 and around ₹71 per litre, while the ex-refinery price of petrol was almost ₹53 per litre.

The sheer arrogance in this statement by Nitin Gadkari sums up the government's stance on the fuel crisis.

Force consumers into buying cheaper-to-produce E20 ethanol blends at premium prices, suffer a massive drop in vehicle mileage, and if they complain about engine damage, tell them to track down ₹168/liter pure petrol instead.

We are paying record-high taxes only to be gaslit by the people we elected. The middle class isn't a bottomless ATM for policy experiments.

Both are reactive carbonyl VOCs involved in photochemical ozone formation. Therefore, mass use of E20 in legacy carbureted two-wheelers can increase the exhaust burden of ozone-forming precursors, particularly in dense, sunny and NOx-polluted Indian cities.
