Dholavira, one of the finest urban centres of the Sindhu-Saraswati Civilization, has yielded what is regarded as the largest known stone sculpture from the entire civilization spread across the northwestern part of the Indian Subcontinent.

Found during the excavations near the Eastern Gate of the Castle, this large sculpture is more than just an artefact. It stands as living evidence of a sophisticated artistic tradition of stone sculpting that began over 4,500 years ago and has continued unbroken in India.

From such monumental works of the Indus-Saraswati era to the modern craft of stone sculpting, India has preserved and carried forward this civilizational thread.

Dholavira does not merely preserve the past, it affirms that the creative genius of the Sindhu-Saraswati Civilization continues to beat throughout India.

Among the most intriguing artefacts unearthed from the Sindhu-Saraswati Civilization are carefully carved stone boards from 3rd Millennium BCE.

These stone boards are marked with geometric grids, often found alongside cubical and elongated dice. Archaeologists have long suggested that these may have served as gaming boards, offering a glimpse into organised leisure and strategic play over 4,500 years ago. While their exact rules remain unknown, some scholars regard them as possible precursors to later Indian board games.

The Rig Veda also reflects the enduring place of play in the Indian tradition through its references to dice (akṣa) and games of chance. Whether used for games, counting, or other purposes, these artefacts add another layer to our understanding of the sophisticated social life of the Sindhu-Saraswati Civilization, a legacy whose echoes continue to thrive in Bharat’s living cultural traditions.

संस्कृति मंत्रालय द्वारा आयोजित नेशनल डिजिटाइजेशन ड्राइव कार्यशाला में संस्कृति ���चिव श्री विवेक अग्रवाल जी ने ज्ञान भारतम् राष्ट्रीय पांडुलिपि सर्वेक्षण के बारे में बताते हुए कहा कि इस सर्वेक्षण में सभी कार्य पूरी पारदर्शिता से किये गये और राज्यों से आयी सभी जानकारी को पोर्टल पर उपलब्ध कराया गया।

1 करोड़ 22 लाख पांडुलिपियों को वेरिफाई कर पोर्टल पर अपडेट कर दिया गया है। ये वो पांडुलिपियों हैं भारत में मिली हैं। इसके अलावा विश्व में बिखरी हुई धरोहरों को संजोने के लिये भी प्रयास जारी हैं।

One of the most remarkable discoveries from Dholavira, Gujarat, is this monumental Signboard, the largest known inscription from the Indus-Saraswati Civilisation and 𝐰𝐨𝐫𝐥𝐝’𝐬 𝐨𝐥𝐝𝐞𝐬𝐭-𝐤𝐧𝐨𝐰𝐧 𝐒𝐢𝐠𝐧𝐛𝐨𝐚𝐫𝐝. Comprising 10 large signs/letters made of Gypsum (each sign being appx. 36 cm tall) and the entire inscription stretching nearly 3 metres in length.

The site, located on the arid island of Khadir in Gujarat, was extensively excavated by the @ASIGoI over 13 field seasons from 1989 to 2005, unveiling indigenous urban sophistication in ancient Bharat.

From advanced water engineering to public inscriptions, Dholavira continues to reveal the remarkable capabilities of the Indus-Saraswati people, a legacy deeply rooted in the cultural and civilisational heritage of Bharat.

In a profound testament to the civilisational resonance anchoring modern diplomacy, Australia is set to repatriate three culturally significant ancient antiquities to India.

These artefacts include a ceremonial bronze trident of Goddess Bhadrakali, a majestic granite idol of Nandi, and a basalt sculpture depicting the six-headed Karttikeya.

All of these items date back to the 11th & 12th centuries and were originally sourced from historic temples in Tamil Nadu.

The official announcement of this repatriation coincides with Hon'ble Prime Minister Shri @narendramodi Ji's visit to Australia, further emphasising the strong cultural alignment between the two nations🇮🇳🤝🇦🇺

Located in Hisar (Haryana), Rakhigarhi is the largest known archaeological site of the Indus-Saraswati Civilisation, spanning approximately 550 hectares, significantly larger than both Harappa and Mohenjo-daro.

Major excavations at the site have revealed advanced urban planning, sophisticated craftsmanship, a large lapidary workshop, drainage systems, wells, and a substantial cemetery.

Many scholars believe it may have served as a major provincial capital or an important regional center of the Indus-Saraswati Civilisation.

These discoveries firmly establish that the heart and largest expanse of the Indus-Saraswati Civilisation thrived across a vast area of Bharat.

Ongoing research and preservation efforts at Rakhigarhi continue to provide deeper insights into this ancient civilisation and its profound roots in Indian history.

संस्कृति मंत्रालय की इकाई @CCRTNewDelhi में आज आज़ादी की लड़ाई के गुमनाम नायकों के सम्मान, संवैधानिक लोकतंत्र के संरक्षण और सांस्कृतिक विरासत व परंपरा को समर्पित कार्यक्रम का उद्घाटन अध्यक्ष डॉ. विनोद नारायण इंदुरकर द्वारा किया गया।

दो दिन तक चलने वाले इस कार्यक्रम में आज 'Long Live Democracy' एवं 'Digital District Repository' प्रदर्शनियों का उद्घाटन किया गया। लगभग 1500 बच्चों, 400 शिक्षकों और 300 से अधिक नागरिकों ने इन प्रदर्शनियों को देखा। कार्यक्रम में इंटरएक्टिव चरखा भी प्रदर्शित किया गया, जो दर्शकों के आकर्षण का केंद्र बना। इसके अलावा सेवा पर्व के दौरान बनाये गये चित्रों की प्रदर्शनी के साथ ही लाइव पेंटिंग भी बनायी गयी, जिसका ��र्शकों ने भरपूर आनंद लिया।

हमें अपनी पहचान पर अब किसी भी प्रकार की झिझक नहीं, बल्कि असीम गर्व है। इसी आत्मगौरव के प्रकाश में आज “4399 अच्छे दिनों” का यह कीर्तिमान स्थापित हुआ है।

यही तो अच्छे दिन हैं, जब वैश्विक संकटों के बीच भी भारत ने अवसर तलाशना और आगे बढ़ना सीखा है। आत्मनिर्भर भारत का संकल्प आज देश की सामूहिक चेतना बन चुका है। कभी ऐसा दौर था जब राष्ट्र की सोच आयातित विचारों में बंधी हुई ��ी, आम नागरिक केवल दाल-रोटी तक सीमित चिंताओं में उलझा था और “विकास” शब्द जनमानस की भाषा से लगभग गायब कर दिया गया था।

लेकिन आज भारत केवल विकास की नहीं, बल्कि विकसित भारत की बात कर रहा है। यह ऐसा सपना बन चुका है जिसमें हर भारतीय अपनी भागीदारी और जिम्मेदारी महसूस करता है।

यही तो अच्छे दिन हैं, जिन्हें देश का हर नागरिक महसूस कर सकता है। इन 4399 अच्छे दिनों का रिकॉर्ड केवल समय का नहीं, बल्कि संकल्प, विश्वास और निरंतर प्रगति का भी है। इन 12 वर्���ों में भारत न झुका है, न रुका है। देश में ऐसा अभूतपूर्व जनविश्वास बना है कि आने वाले समय में भी यह यात्रा निरंतर आगे बढ़ती रहेगी… क्योंकि “मोदी हैं तो मुमकिन है।”
