At #TEDxMaiduguri, innovators, entrepreneurs, creatives and researchers came together under the theme Beyond the Horizon to share ideas driving resilience, inclusion and recovery across Northeast Nigeria.
The event celebrated Borno's resilience and the power of locally led solutions. Thanks to @EUinNigeria for the continued partnership in amplifying local voices.
In the Gwoza and Bama communities of Borno State, 600 people, including women and young people, have received business start-up kits to rebuild their livelihoods and support community recovery.
Through these investments, we aim to promote reintegration, strengthen social cohesion, and foster sustainable peace. We are grateful to @EUinNigeria for their continued support.
Nigeria is advancing its market-wide Sustainable Finance Taxonomy to align financial flows with national priorities and the #SDGs.
Anchored under the @INFFfacility, and supported by @UNDP, the technical validation workshop on the Sustainable Finance Taxonomyis bringing together key stakeholders to finalise the taxonomy draft, enhance transparency, and mobilise long-term capital for green growth.
I have always been intentional about wearing African, because I believe what we wear tells a much bigger story.
From Kente in 🇬🇭Ghana, Bogolan in 🇲🇱Mali, Baule in 🇨🇮Côte d’Ivoire to Aso-Oke, Adire and Akwette in 🇳🇬Nigeria, Africa’s textiles are more than beautiful expressions of identity. They are repositories of knowledge and ingenuity and living value chains connecting culture, craftsmanship, enterprise and generations of makers.
Akwette 🧵🇳🇬is a powerful example.
When I wore Akwette during an engagement with H.E. @SenRemiTinubu, it was a celebration of a textile deeply woven into Abia’s identity and of the women and artisans who have carried that heritage across generations.
Returning to Abia recently to launch the #ManuTechUniPod brought that story full circle for me.
Abia 📍has always been a place that makes. From its looms and textiles to the extraordinary enterprise of Aba, ingenuity is already part of its DNA. Thank you to H.E. the First Lady for recognizing this value and congratulations to the people of Abia and H.E. Governor @alexottiofr.

Africa’s next chapter of innovation depends on connections we build across our borders.
@UNDPNigeria warmly welcomes the delegation from @PNUDCameroun to Nigeria, for a benchmarking mission, as we connect ecosystems and share experience to advance innovation and support the Digital and Agricultural Hubs in Cameroon.
I commend the Governments of Cameroon and Nigeria for enabling sustainable dev’t to take flight via innovation.
Thank you to my brother @ciowela for the shared learning opportunity to expand Africa’s innovation footprint and turning shared knowledge into stronger value chains, enterprise and opportunity 🇨🇲🤝🏾🇳🇬.
Looking back at the launch of the #ManuTech UniPod at Michael Okpara University of Agriculture, Umudike, one thing is clear: transformative partnerships are what turn bold ideas into lasting impact.
This milestone was made possible through the leadership of H.E. @alexottiofr, the collaboration of @NigeriaGov and @NigEducation under Min. @DrTunjiAlausa, the continued commitment of @TETFundNg, and the dedication of @officialmouauX to advancing innovation through research, talent, and industry.
Our sincere appreciation to H.E. @officialSKSM, for his invaluable support and leadership throughout this journey.
Together, we are laying the foundation for a globally competitive manufacturing ecosystem, unlocking the potential of Abia's enterprises and taking Nigerian innovation to the global market.

I joined the DSRSG, RC/HC @Ag_Ayoya to pay a courtesy visit to H.E Félix Moloua, Prime Minister of Central African Republic.Listened to how the country interacts with its partners(@MSF_SPAIN_HR ) on nexus & humanitarian issues, given the governmemt's move to capitalise dev'tm
Thank you, @HaoliangXu.
Indeed, clean, affordable energy is one of the strongest catalysts for inclusive development.
The joint launch of 23 Africa Minigrids Programme pilot sites in 🇳🇬 demonstrates how productive energy can power agricultural value chains, strengthen state energy markets, unlock MSME growth, create jobs and attract investment, turning Nigeria's power sector reforms into tangible opportunities for people and businesses.
Proud to partner with @REA_Nigeria, @theGEF, Hon. @JosephOTegbe and @GovNigeria to scale a just energy transition that drives inclusive economic transformation with the leadership and support of @ahunnaeziakonwa@UNDPAfrica.
Encouraging to see growing momentum across the continent to strengthen cocoa value addition, advance fairer trade, and build integrated regional value chains that keep more value, jobs and prosperity in Africa.
Meeting Viviane Kouamé in Côte d’Ivoire brought that opportunity into sharp focus. Seeing locally grown cocoa transformed into premium, market-ready African brands was a powerful reminder that our comparative advantage should not end at cultivation. It must extend to processing, innovation, branding and leadership across the entire cocoa value chain.

Happy to be making my way around Côte d'Ivoire.
There is something profoundly grounding about places like Assinie. They remind you that not everything of value is extracted, some of it is experienced. What if Africa's next economic frontier lies not only in what we take from the earth, but in what we choose to preserve, celebrate, and share with the world?
Our coastlines, our cultures, our communities, and the stories that have always defined us. The stories that make us stand tall.
Perhaps the future of Africa is built in the places that reconnect us to our identity while creating opportunity, livelihoods, and hope. Tourism, at its best, is not just about seeing Africa, it is about investing in its people and its future.

Today we join Nigerians to celebrate the literary titan, political conscience and Africa’s first Nobel Laureate in literature, Professor Wole Soyinka as he turns 92 years old today.
We salute your contributions to African literature and defence of human rights. Happy birthday and many happy returns!🎊🎂🎁

Some journeys feel less like arriving and more like coming home.
Today, I arrived in Côte d’Ivoire for the very first time, a country that has always held a special place in my heart. My great-great-grandmother was from Côte d’Ivoire, so essentially, I feel at home.
Wearing my kente today, our beautiful handwoven cloth that celebrates the shared Akan heritage of both Ghana and Côte d’Ivoire, reminds me that Africa’s history, cultures and futures, are deeply intertwined.
Looking forward to the #AfricaEconomicConference engagements and connecting with fellow @UNDP Representatives as we explore new partnerships to advance Africa’s development. 🇨🇮🇬🇭 🇳🇬 🙏🏽

@NGRPresident
At the launch of the #ManuTechUniPod, H.E. @alexottiofr, Governor of @NG_AbiaState, reminded us that development is a team sport, and no economy transforms in isolation.
In his words, “true progress requires strong partnerships. It invites the active support and participation of multilateral partners with access to the global circuit of resources that drives progress.”
“Nigeria can no longer afford to separate knowledge from national prosperity. The university of the future must be where ideas become industries, where research moves beyond the laboratory to power manufacturing, enterprise, and economic growth.
The #ManuTechUniPod offers a blueprint for this transformation, connecting innovation to industry and equipping the next generation to drive Nigeria's manufacturing future.” ~ @DrTunjiAlausa, Hon. Minister, @NigEducation
