Why are the rules different? Nestle gets a notice for high amounts of total phosphorus in its low fat dairy whitener when added phosphorus is within permissible limits, but Indians will not get warned about total free sugars and total fats! Why are we going to get FOPLwarnings only about added sugars and added fats?! So that food industry can sell products sweetened with fruit pulp, date syrup, honey etc as 'No sugar' product?!

We all know how the metabolism works in reality. To a child’s developing liver and pancreas, glucose is glucose and fructose is fructose whatever the source is. They cause the exact same insulin spikes and dental caries and affect the liver exactly the same way! Maltodextrins have higher glycemic index than sugar. If FSSAI doesn't come up with FOPL warnings about total sugars and total fats instead of added sugars and added fats, about maltodextrins, and about non nutritive sweeteners as well, the industry is going to wreak havoc! They are going to sell all their products containing date syrup, honey, fruit pulp, fruit juices as 'no sugar' products! Parents will not be warned shout maltodextrins or non nutritive sweeteners!
This is going to be a major flaw in Front-of-Pack Label warnings or FOPL warnings. Consider a packaged fruit puree or fruit pulp bar or a tetrapack with fruit juice. Because the sugar comes from the fruit itself, it is not classified as "added." A child could consume 20 grams of free sugar in one sitting, yet the package will have no warning about the free sugar in it.
The law is not only going to act as a shield for corporate profits but also mislead public into believing that food products containing sugars other than jaggery and sugar, are healthy and that they do not need to show any restraint while consuming them.

A plane is on its way to Toronto when a blonde woman in economy class gets up, walks to the first-class section, and sits down.

The flight attendant watches her do this and asks to see her ticket.

She tells the woman, “You paid for economy class, so you’ll have to return to your seat in the back.”

The blonde replies, “I’m blonde, I’m beautiful, I’m going to Toronto, and I’m staying right here.”

The flight attendant goes into the cockpit and tells the pilot and co-pilot that there’s a woman sitting in first class who belongs in economy and refuses to move.

The co-pilot goes back to the blonde and tries to explain that because she only paid for economy, she’ll have to return to her seat.

The blonde replies, “I’m blonde, I’m beautiful, I’m going to Toronto, and I’m staying right here.”

The co-pilot returns to the cockpit and tells the pilot they may need to have the police waiting when they land to deal with the woman.

The pilot says, “You say she’s blonde? I’ll handle this. I’m married to a blonde. I speak blonde.”

He walks back to the first-class section, leans down, and whispers something in the woman’s ear.

“Oh, I’m sorry,” she says.

She immediately gets up and returns to her seat in economy.

The flight attendant and co-pilot are amazed.

“What did you say to her to make her move without any fuss?”

The pilot says, “I told her, ‘First class isn’t going to Toronto.’”

In 2002, an IIT Kanpur civil engineer working as an IES officer wrote to Prime Minister Vajpayee, exposing corruption in the $10 billion Golden Quadrilateral Corridor - India's biggest highway project.

He left his letter to the Prime Minister's Office (PMO) unsigned. Knowing the deadly stakes, Dubey attached his credentials on a separate sheet with an explicit instruction:

"Before moving the file, please remove the attachment containing my particulars to ensure secrecy."

But the PMO did not redact that information. It forwarded his complaint down the ministry chain with his identity attached. His name reached the very people he had exposed.

One year later, on his 31st birthday, Satyendra Dubey was shot dead outside Gaya railway station by the mafia.

They called it armed robbery. His family never believed it. The men who ran the murder racket were never touched, even after a CBI probe.

His death led to the Whistleblowers Protection Act in 2014. It was never brought into force, and it still doesn't protect a whistleblower's identity to this day.

Apparently there is some science behind why masala ground on a silbatta or ammi kal tastes better.

A 2017 study comparing traditional stone grinding with other methods found something quite interesting.
Stone grinding raised the temperature by just 2-3°C. A mixer grinder pushed it up by 12-15°C. Plate mills and carborundum grinders fell somewhere in between.

That difference matters. Much of what we smell and taste in spices comes from volatile oils. More heat while grinding means more chance of losing some of that aroma and flavour.
There is also the way the grinding happens. Mixer blades chop at high speed. Stone crushes and shears slowly. The study's sensory testing also found the traditionally stone-ground samples scored better overall, with less loss of flavour and colour.

So a motorised version like the one in the video should retain much of the advantage if it keeps the stone-on-stone action, moves slowly and doesn't generate too much heat.

Perhaps not quite what a practiced hand on a silbatta can do. But fairly close.
