@SirGuyGuisborne An Australian friend (regular) at PI says they deserve to lose it due to a lack of investment over the years!
Basically they’ve sat back relatively secure in the knowledge that they’re going to continue to get the GP but now the organisers are worrying!
@RacingBackPod@MotoGPJules He tested at Valencia and after a few “offs” at turn one he put in some very respectable times.
The problem was he wanted to make his own decisions but the team (in the pits) were watching the telemetry and telling him where to brake etc.
@SirGuyGuisborne I have this mental image of a Chihuahua
with belay devices, ropes and a rucksack making its way up there clipping carabiners into previously hammered pitons! 😆
@SirGuyGuisborne@matoxley Thank you Guy, much appreciated!
I’m still around but much quieter!
I tend to spend more time on FB than on here but every so often something piques my interest! 😊
@SirGuyGuisborne@matoxley Not the same thing but I seem to recall both Melandri & Crutchlow buying themselves out of their respective Ducati contracts after a year.
It seems that contracts are only any good if both parties are honourable.
@popsyosh34 In 1974 I bought a Suzuki GT250 from HGB!
I was blown away when it was delivered cos it was blue!
It seems North UK got gold ones & South UK got blue ones!
For about 2 years I had the only blue GT250 in Cumberland!
@motomatters I served my time using Imperial units, which was fine because it was all I’d ever known!
After a spell away from engineering I returned to a special steels environment using metric, which I loved!
Downside was machining components for US because they worked in Imperial.
@SirGuyGuisborne A few years ago we had an impromptu family gathering. It was a sunny day so the BBQ came out! At one point our daughter’s boyfriend walked across & picked up a spatula!
I said, “What the f*ck are you doing? The BBQ is Jean’s domain! Apart from lighting it even I don’t touch it!”
@motomatters I was saddened to learn of her passing but what a great last ride!
It looks like the same outfit we used for Jean’s final ride & it blew everyone away!
They expected a conventional hearse, but Jean’s favourite comment was, “We don’t do normal, and we don’t do boring!”
@Mattisamazing33 I loved my 1300!
The previous owner had discovered that virtually anything you could do to a 1275 Mini would work on the Allegro!
LCB exhaust manifold & a silencer like the down spout on your house plus a Nikki twin choke!
It may have looked crap, but it was fun!
