@Babygravy9 I actually think the issue is much worse in the social sciences than the humanities because they can hide behind bs methodologies. humanities still requires extensive longform verbal argument and has to derive the bs from a serious activity, whereas sociology can cut to the chase

One of the things that makes me uneasy about the online postliberals is the constant feeling of having stumbled some esoteric cult of people who are all reading the same obscure books and blogs behind the scenes.

Where are they all suddenly Huey Long fans? Why are they all reading Julius Evola and Schmitt? Is there a secret discord server somewhere? Is there an underground club? It’s all a bit creepy.
