@F0rtuneL0wT1er Warner Bros released a short documentary on YouTube that includes Jeremiah which I think is the only time they acknowledge him officially as the Joker

@quinde_jeffrey@MOLENAIDE The music and animation is so so good and its cool to explore a culture tragically unrepresented in animation, but it should’ve been an original story instead of a sanitized version of some pretty messed up real events
@lunwi75 No but for the 2008 Clone Wars movie McDonald’s had bobbleheads of PT and OT characters in the animated style so it’s the closest official look you can get
@reformedmuse@jimifrusciante1@shmuckula@ecto_fun All art takes inspiration from somewhere but the human mind seeing something and either intentionally or unintentionally putting that into new art is transformative. It has something to say that’s meaningful, whether praising the original art or critiquing it. Ai just copies.
@reformedmuse@jimifrusciante1@shmuckula@ecto_fun 3. The “Asian movie” you’re talking about is the Hong Kong film Infernal Affairs, which Scorsese got the rights to remake and is significantly different from the Departed. It’s a transformative work, and he got the legal rights so not stealing.
@reformedmuse@jimifrusciante1@shmuckula@ecto_fun 2. Same thing for Tarantino. All of his films take inspiration, and some even use music from other films. But he got the rights to use that music and credits the original films and composers. Which AI doesn’t do, because it’s stealing
@jimifrusciante1@LunareProd13@shmuckula@ecto_fun And you can say that laws should be put in place but honestly the only way anything will be done about it is if people reject it and vote with their wallets. I honestly believe GenAI should be illegal, I don’t see how it’s an improvement over how things have been done
@jimifrusciante1@LunareProd13@shmuckula@ecto_fun Not only does it ruin art, but the better it gets at creating realistic images, it’ll be easier for horrible people to create fake sexual images and videos of real adults and children, easier for them to scam the elderly and spread false information.
@wisetruecorrect I’d like to see this too. The best way I can phrase it in my head is there are some things you can’t do practically and need CGI for, where there’s never a reason to need to use GenAI it’s just laziness
@jimifrusciante1@LunareProd13@shmuckula@ecto_fun Even if you don’t consider it art, having it be used for storyboarding trains the generative AI so I can be used in the ways you wouldn’t like. The only way to keep it out of art especially is to reject any use of generative AI at any step of the process
@jimifrusciante1@shmuckula@ecto_fun But anything AI generated is directly lifted from other sources, it’s not like a human either consciously or subconsciously taking influences from another piece of art. How can you say that’s not plagiarism? Just because it’s multiple sources? That just makes it more plagiarism.
