@EderyNaomi Love this! This class has really opened my eyes to another side of the harmful effects of technology but like you said, we just have to be aware and use digital responsibility. #Lesson13
@EderyNaomi Exactly! I saw a youtube video explaining the Justin Bieber burrito eating pic on the bench. That picture blew up all because of how he was eating his burrito and they made a vid explaining the backstory. Just shows how quick things will spread online. #Lesson13
@EBattinieri Agree completely. My mom always used to tell me not to believe everything I read online because it's so easy to get false information. #Lesson13
@AnthonyLicursi2 Exactly. The fact that he is kind of the instigator for so much more hate and violence is sad because he has such a powerful voice for the United States considering he's the president. It's really horrible to see #Lesson13
@AnthonyLicursi2 Agreed. It's important that before parents or guardians allow young children to use the Internet, they must teach them about the right&wrong ways of using it and how to report hateful speech when they see it. #Lesson13
Hate speech is inevitable because it happens daily in real life situations as well. But that doesn't mean we can't do anything about it online. We must all report hateful comments and any other hate speech we see to try and eliminate it on social media in general #Lesson13
I think it's important for parents to monitor their childrens' social media accounts when they are young to make sure they are respecting digital etiquette and digital code. #Lesson13
@lindseyEDUC307 For sure. We need to all learn to be more thoughtful and think twice before we say something on social media because our words can be twisted and really hurt people. #Lesson13
@AmandaNaccache I agree!! I find with the younger generations that use social media, it has made us all more open-minded to discuss difficult topics. I know for me personally, I have learned a lot of information on social media platforms that I wouldn't have learned otherwise #Lesson13
@AnthonyLicursi2 Agreed but at the same time, everything is offensive nowadays depending on the way we look at it. Oftentimes, online jokes can get portrayed the wrong way because we can't hear their tone of voice or their sarcasm in the words on a computer screen. #Lesson13
@yacineAitSlima1 I've had multiple friends delete their Snapchats and Instagrams for exam season, which is good but it shouldn't be such a distraction. #Lesson13
@marinad307 Yes agreed. I remember the number of people who got bullied in elementary/high school on online platforms like https://t.co/LAtYHGmonL or even Instagram. So sad to see. #Lesson13
@ScaglioneMaya It's super cool that in our generation today, people can make money from things they genuinely enjoy doing! There's even a youtube channel where a kid reviews toys and it has like 17 million subscribers! #Lesson12
@EDUC307Ray So true! Youtube is not only an entertainment platform, but it is so useful for academic help and staying in touch with worldwide news. #Lesson12
