Best comms of the weekend: @robvickerman at @WorldTens “he’s got a name like a cocktail but he’s built like the bar”

It’s great that the six nations is on free to air TV in terms of exposure. The coverage is shocking though

The RFU trying to get Chris Robshaw to attend an independent disciplinary hearing

Is it possible to become a professional rugby player in the space of a week? Quite fancy a trip to Bermuda for the @WorldTens

At present, if a team other than Newcastle came up, they would have to spend big money to attempt to stay up. If they fail they’re probably fucked financially (London Welsh).

Ring-Fencing should happen, as long as new clubs are allowed to join the league if they have suitable financial strength to compete. Any team wanting to gain promotion atm would have to effectively buy their way in anyway...

Why not say to a club aspiring to play in the prem: you have to win the champ & be capable of spending up to say 80% of the salary cap (ideally there would be a salary floor) + have a suitable stadium. Then simply add that team to the comp without relegation

How can “medium” be the lowest tier?!?!? Not even the basic language makes sense...

Players will either have to be trained to ignore the referee, or the referee will have to remain silent until the chance for a quick tap is over

All the Bristol players clearly looking at and listening to Matt Carley. If the other team can use that to their advantage, the ref shouldn’t be talking to the players in that scenario

The majority of games are decided by the back row these days

Where next for SBW? 35 years old so probably not prem/Top14, back to Toronto if possible? ProD2/Japan? Elsewhere in super league/NRL? Or will he call it a day...

Great to see the @Premier15s back (now sponsored by Allianz). There will be no scrums due to Covid, free kick instead for knock on/forward pass - interesting rule, could influence team selection. Half length will be reduced to 35 minutes... seems arbitrary
