Sometimes admitting that you made a mistake is complicated especially when you know what you have to do to fix that mistake.

If you fix the mistake everything changes. So in the end if you don't want things to change then was it a mistake at all and if you want things to change then why are you so afraid to fix the mistake?

There is a different form of contentment that comes when who you are and your circumstances are the result of choices you consciously made not opportunities you missed because you were too stuck in your ways or worse, just woefully ignorant. I hope so...

You don't know what you don't know and sometimes you barely know what you do know. Always assume you don't know everything. You can't stop learning. You can't stop evolving. You have to constantly refine your opinions. Grow. Or become obsolete.

Kindness, respect and humility are investments. Some day you will cash in when you least expect it. Being crass, arrogant, self-centered and boastful will yield its own inevitable outcome. There will be a lack of goodwill and less sympathy when it is your turn to seek help.

Your only true hope is God's favor because even hard work is not enough sometimes. But God is everything and hardship is a chance to experience God's goodness not to sink into shame and self-pity. An expectant heart, a sturdy soul and a peaceful mind are worthy gifts.

Governments make rash decisions without consulting their citizens and then enact arbitrary laws to force the citizens to help them deal with the consequences of their decisions and these reactionary laws only make things worse and require more draconian laws to fix them etc.

Politics cannot save human souls or guarantee eternal life and obsessing over it like it can is a waste of focus. But hearts that are full of God's love will lead to better policies and will endure in spite of bad policies.
