Attending #APHA2024? Check my work on #PCOS and #Socialmediamessaging on Monday, Oct 28, 2024, from 12.30 - 1.30 pm at the #Women's #Caucus#poster session. My work is co-authored by my chair @luguerrareyes, and committee member @DebbyHerbenick, among others.
I don't know who, if anyone, is advising the Prime Minister. But either
a) she is not listening to them
b) they are very stupid, or
c) they want her out.
I haven't seen the whole speech, because the government has switched the internet off. But this clip is astonishing.
The relative restraint of the army is the only hope right now. The popular feeling is so entirely against the government and their attacks on the students, it is just astonishing that the leadership either cannot hear or does not care that they have lost all support. 🇧🇩
Why isn't it a severe human rights violation and criminal offence to shut down the internet connection for days? Why are we normalising this trend? #Bangladesh#BangladeshBleeding
Women & poorer regions are losers from Supreme Ct decision. But as everyone has noted, this has gone beyond demands for quota reform now. Students are demanding two ministers resign for their role in instigating violence.
🙏for restraint & resolution 🇧🇩

Dozens of protestors have been killed by Bangladeshi authorities in recent days. My constituents cannot reach their loved ones due to a government implemented communications blackout.
I call for an end to the blackout and de-escalation of violence against protestors.
#SSSS2023 ✅
During my talk I asked my audience how many of them knew at least one person with #PCOS in their life? All, I repeat, all in a room full of 30+ people raised their hands. & that’s why we need to work more on PCOS. #chronicillness#women#research#phdlife#academia
It’s fascinating to see how innovative research shed lights to various aspects of sexual health and encourage discussion that otherwise we would consider taboo. @ebuhi presenting on pubic hair removal practices among men in the USA at the #SSSS2023.
So excited to be attending the #APHA2023 at the @APHAAnnualMtg in Atlanta. My first time in person. I’ll be presenting my paper on comprehensive support needs among women with #PCOS living in the USA on Nov 15, 2023.
Attended #PCOSCON2023 arranged by #PCOSAA in New York. #PCOS Awareness Association did a great job bringing diverse folks together who are working on PCOS, ranging from raising awareness to #holistic#treatment. Learned many things from all those PCOS professionals.
Happy to share that I have been #awarded the Santosh Jain Endowed Memorial Scholarship 2023-24. This annual university-wide competitive #scholarship is awarded to one South Asian contributing to a #hard-to-reach population. Thanks to @IU_AHS and @luguerrareyes for their support.
We'd like to congratulate IU doctoral student Ruhun Wasata for being selected as the winner of the Santosh Jain Endowed Memorial Scholarship!
Congratulations, it's well-deserved!

It hit home this morning when Dr. @ElizabethCDunn said the key to finish a Ph.D. is to know how to manage anxiety! We don’t see when we’re at the program that managing our emotional health is vital! I’ve decided I’ll not let my #PhD stress me! #AcademicChatter#phdlife
