Germany has advanced legislation that would make publicly denying Israel's right to exist or calling for its elimination a criminal offense punishable by up to five years in prison.

The bill has been approved by the Bundesrat (Germany's upper house) and now moves to the Bundestag for consideration.

If passed, it would expand Section 130 of Germany's Criminal Code beyond Holocaust denial to also cover public denial of Israel's right to exist. The proposal would apply to public statements, demonstrations and online speech, but only where the conduct is capable of promoting antisemitic violence or hatred.

German officials said existing laws on incitement and support for terrorist organizations are insufficient and pointed to a sharp rise in antisemitic incidents, from 1,957 in 2020 to 8,627 in 2024.

The proposal does not ban criticism of Israeli government policies or legitimate academic and artistic debate.

The proposed bill is strongly supported by Christian groups in Germany, which argue that the Israeli state is crucial for the protection of Christian Arabs in the Holy Land.

ISRAELI INTEL: IRAN MOVED THOUSANDS OF CENTRIFUGES DEEP UNDERGROUND

Israeli intelligence reportedly believes Tehran transferred thousands of nuclear centrifuges into the Pickaxe Mountain tunnel complex near Natanz after the June 2025 war.

Buried beneath hundreds of feet of rock, the facility may be far harder to destroy from the air—and could allow Iran to secretly rebuild its enrichment program.

Iran has not granted the IAEA access to the site.

Trump has already warned that Pickaxe Mountain could soon be targeted.

Sinds 2016 zou de stichting betrokken zijn geweest bij de sluiting, inbeslagname of gedwongen overdracht van 162 scholen in 29 landen, waarbij directe controle werd genomen over 131 instellingen en rond de 7.800 docenten en medewerkers werden getroffen.

Het rapport stelt dat Turkije diplomatieke druk, veiligheidsakkoorden, invallen, deportaties en onteigeningen heeft gebruikt om landen waaronder Afghanistan, Mali, Niger, Soedan, Venezuela, Zambia en Liberia te dwingen scholen over te dragen aan Maarif.

De staatsfinanciering voor de stichting heeft sinds de oprichting 27,7 miljard lira (ongeveer 900 miljoen dollar) overschreden. Het rapport concludeert dat er een redelijke basis is om de campagne te onderzoeken als vervolging die neerkomt op een misdaad tegen de menselijkheid onder het Statuut van Rome.

NEW: Around 40 Hezbollah operatives are reportedly trapped inside a sprawling underground tunnel complex beneath the Ali Taher ridge.

The IDF has sealed the tunnel entrances, while Israeli security officials assess the operatives could run out of supplies within days, increasing the likelihood of a breakout attempt.

The complex reportedly stretches more than one kilometer and contains command centers, weapons depots, and rocket-launch facilities.
