@GESHotW@MelGibsonstory all the jurors and people defending her need to be put on a watch list. these people are supporting the murder of children. truly evil people.
The Society That Comforted the Killer and Condemned the Juror
Lindsay Clancy strangled Cora, 5; Dawson, 3; and Callan, 8 months, in a basement after timing her husband’s absence. That was the crime: planned and carried out, not the collapse of a mind that could no longer tell right from wrong. She found a distant restaurant, mapped the drive, added a pharmacy stop, and used the window she built. Then she murdered three children who could not fight her and could not leave. The command voice that now carries her defense appeared after the fact—when it became useful.
A sizable share of the public—likely a majority of those who have chosen a side—has answered that slaughter with tenderness. They speak of her as if she were the wounded party. They gather for her, raise money for her, invent excuses for her, and wrap a calculating killer in the language of care. Triple filicide is recast as something that happened to her. The children are reduced to scenery. Her feelings become the story. That is not mercy. It is a moral collapse. Then came the holdout.
One juror refused to launder this evil through sympathy. He applied the test Massachusetts actually uses: whether she retained substantial capacity to appreciate the wrongfulness of her acts or to conform her conduct to the law. Illness is not that test. The afternoon of January 24, 2023, is. Eleven others appear to have been ready to let feeling finish what she started. He would not. On August 20 I wrote that jury nullification driven by compassion would be understandable human emotion, and that it would not be justice. He refused that bargain. He did the one honest thing left in the room.
For that, he was treated as the criminal.
Kevin Reddington walked to the microphones and marked him for contempt: the “one man,” the man with an “agenda,” the man who “robbed” the case and “stole seven weeks.” He thanked the jury “minus one.” He has never spoken with anything close to that heat about Cora, Dawson, and Callan. Seven weeks of trial offend him. Three murdered children do not. The public that had already learned to coo over their killer learned, just as quickly, to despise the juror who would not acquit her.
That is the society we are living in. A cold-blooded evildoer is nursed in loving words. The citizen who stood where the law required him to stand is made the villain. A hung jury left the wound open, and the man blamed for leaving it open is easier to hate than the woman who closed the children’s throats with exercise bands and called it illness.
The inversion is the indictment. When the killer is comforted and the juror is condemned, the children have been discarded twice: first in that basement, then by a culture too corrupt, or too cowardly, to say what she is. 🙏
