@gamestop@ryancohen Find a way to get this extremely interesting EBay deal done and as part of the innovation, bring an NFT marketplace into the arena. We need a mainstream platform to bridge blockchain natives and retail, and the combination of EBay and GameStop could be just the one. GO!
@ChainLinkGod Best summary of the event posted. I'm still at a loss as to what this all adds up to in terms of expected yield and why we have Defi allowing derivatives of derivatives to continuously be levered... I guess that bit is on the protocols.
@SalemWitchEmD@BorgataPoker Aria main last summer he purposely concealed or held back one single chip when they were down to two tables (I am not exactly sure how the play went down) and he ended up losing the hand but running that one chip to taking first. Insane.
@ReichelRadio Best in game tie breaker I’ve liked is highest scoring player in the game. But in all cases difficult to make a rule if it wasn’t stated ahead of the season (how???). Short of that, flipping a coin is probably better than making something up now.
I am not sure even this was a legit post. I reached out to this firm and the contacts referenced and they stated they were not representing any entity by the name of Stream or Stream Finance. Some clarity and any updates would be obviously be helpful for anyone involved. Seems to get worse and worse. @StreamDefi
Yesterday, an external fund manager overseeing Stream funds disclosed the loss of approximately $93 million in Stream fund assets.
In response, Stream is in the process of engaging Keith Miller and Joseph Cutler of the law firm Perkins Coie LLP, to lead a comprehensive investigation into the incident.
We are actively withdrawing all liquid assets and expect this process to be completed in the near term
To keep our stakeholders informed, we will provide periodic updates as additional information becomes available. Until we are able to fully assess the scope and causes of the loss, all withdrawals and deposits will be temporarily suspended. Any pending deposits will not be processed at this time.
Our decision to retain Perkins Coie LLP reflects Stream’s unwavering commitment to transparency and robust corporate governance.
I really hate these videos of people slicing their fake/cake cat or dog to see what reaction they get out of their pets. What kind of twisted sht is that. Gtfo
Embarassed, especially as I deposited literally days ago, but being open about this for awareness. Of course many other defi sharps have already said plenty (pre and post), but thought I would be upfront as a "victim". I came across @StreamDefi after reading about @0xlawlol . Had done some light due diligence in digging into his background and speaking with others about him. I thought I was "betting on the guy". While we still don't know all of the details, and I don't think 0xlaw intended any wrongdoing, the protocol and process seemingly involved too many other touchpoints and apparently people. In this space, betting on "the person" isn't enough. No yield is high enough to take on the risk of a somewhat opaque process with others involved. I've learned my lesson, please make sure you do not learn yours with a loss. Take your time making decisions and deploying capital. An annual yield isn't material on any given day, do your due diligence in full before deploying. If you're in, and there's fud, and coming from seemingly reputable channels - act first, figure it out later... the yield is not worth it.
Doug - thanks for laying this out, I think it really helps people understand what happened. The one part that still isn't all that clear, if you have any color on it, for instance HL's insurance fund is 411mm capitalized and as you point out was +40mm on the day. Does this imply that wasn't enough on its own to support unwinding all that were getting liquidated? Not much transparency to this process, is there?
One of the ugliest half’s of a football game I’ve seen.. Arizona Cardinals just horrible. All of them. At this point I can’t tell if it’s Murray, MHJ or both being awful. Just lots of awful.
