"It's not what you're capable of, it's what you're willing to do. I know plenty of people that are capable, I know fewer that are willing. Will is a powerful thing. Ask yourself, "What are you willing to do?"

What you FEEL is not always REAL.
What is REAL is not always RIGHT.
What feels NATURAL is not always HEALTHY.
What is POPULAR is not always BEST.
What you THINK is not always TRUE.
Give yourself permission to NOT believe everything you think.
Peyton Manning said, “The attitude with which we approach the situation can determine our success or failure.”
Your attitude is a choice.
A positive attitude is a choice for hope and belief.
A negative attitude is a choice for negativity and problems.
There will always be adversity, but it's your attitude and mindset that will determine how far you go.
Your attitude can turn a difficult situation into an opportunity.
You have to fight your brain because it will always have a bias towards negativity.
You need to rise above that negativity with a daily mindset and attitude of resilience, improvement, and gratitude.
6 Ways To Improve Your Attitude:
1. Transform Negative Self-Talk
Replace your negative thoughts with positive affirmations. Your words are powerful, especially the words that you speak to yourself. Studies by the Journal of Cognitive Enhancement highlight that positive self-talk can enhance confidence and reduce stress.
2. Create an Attitude of Gratitude
Spend time thinking about the positive aspects of your life. Feed yourself positivity, gratitude, and greatness instead of listening to complaining, negativity, and doubt. Research shows that practicing gratitude daily can lead to improved mood and overall well-being.
3. Stay Present - BE HERE NOW
All we have is the present moment. When you focus on the present, you reduce stress and anxiety because you aren’t worrying about the past or anxious about the future. Your attitude and mindset depends on your ability to be mindful of your environment.
4. Create Positive Moments and Connect
Connect with others and spend time with the people that you like. When you have an attitude of connection, you look for positivity and realize your effect on others. You also realize that others bring you support in those times of need.
5. Believe in Yourself and Your Future
Cultivate self-belief. Research has shown that having a positive self-view predicts better psychological well-being. When you believe in your future, you take ownership and responsibility for your choices and actions because you believe they will affect your future.
6. Prioritize What's Within Your Control
Take ownership and control what you can control. When you realize that you can control your mindset and attitude, you start to view external challenges for what they are, just challenges. Have a growth-mindset and believe that you can grow and improve.
"Everything can be taken from a man but one thing: the last of human freedoms - to choose one’s attitude in any given set of circumstances, to choose one’s way."

“Winning is fun... Sure. But winning is not the point. Wanting to win is the point. Not giving up is the point. Never letting up is the point. Never being satisfied with what you've done is the point.”

"I am a huge believer in being coached." - Peyton Manning
Coaching is about feedback, growth, and improvement.
- The great ones are coachable.
- They want to be coached
- They want to be challenged
- They want to learn
Be Coachable!

Players: If you want to lead your team you will have to hold some of your best friends accountable. That isn’t always easy.
The best leaders lead by example and look after their teammates on the court, academically, socially, in the weight room, and in the community.
Leading is not a part-time gig. It’s a full-time job with overtime required. Leaders never punch out; they are always on the clock.
Leaders can’t be selected by coaches. They rise to the position through consistent action and mentality.
Some parts of leadership are fun such as helping teammates who need assistance and being the person who helps make decisions. There is glory in leadership.
However, many parts of leadership are difficult, such as calling up those who aren’t bringing 100% effort, managing conflict, and holding others accountable while also performing at maximum focus and effort every day.
Imagine trying to lead your teammates when you show up late, are inconsistent in your effort, or if you have a bad attitude. It isn’t possible.
However, once you get your habits, mind, and work ethic in consistent order then you’ve opened up the door to help others get there too. The most difficult part of establishing yourself as a leader is showing everyone else that you are the example, that you are the standard. It requires a relentless level of daily effort.
Leaders aren’t perfect; they are flawed just like everyone else. However they bounce back faster than others, they never waver in their effort, and they take responsibility. Leaders own their mistakes and they are elite at turning the page while learning along the way.
Leaders partner with the coaching staff to ensure the program runs at maximum capacity. A coach-led team will never win a championship. A player-led team is a dangerous team that can overcome anything and reach maximum potential.
