BACK-TO-BACK BRONZE FOR ALEX ๐ฅ๐ต๐ญ
Alex Eala secures another womenโs singles bronze medal at the Asian Games after falling to Chinaโs Wang Xiyu in the semifinals, matching her podium finish from the 2023 Hangzhou Asian Games and adding another medal to Team Philippinesโ haul in Aichi-Nagoya.

I came across this post and had to share ๐ญ Uzbekistanโs volleyball team arrived in Japan unaware of the matching-socks rule. With only hours to avoid a potential forfeit, they rushed to FamilyMartโand somehow found socks in their national colors ๐บ๐ฟ ๐ฅบ

Everybody wants the gold, so does Alex Eala, who keeps her focus on tallying a gold finish for the Philippines in the Asiad. #AsianGames#AichiNagoya2026

Sometimes, you just gotta give my girlie, Alex Eala, a breather. ๐ฎโ๐จ
If you guys want the GOLD, trust me, she wants it more. If you want her to play better than she did in her last matches, for sure, sheโs aiming for that too.
But itโs honestly getting exhausting seeing the same dragging remarks every single time sheโs โnot performing wellโ according to peopleโs expectations. One shaky match and suddenly, people are online saying, โSheโs gonna lose if she keeps playing like this.โ
And some even go as far as saying, โSayang lang yung spot na binigay sa kanya kung papatalo lang siya.โ
OMFG. Are you hearing yourselves? ๐ญ
Do we even realize what she has sacrificed just to be at the Asian Games and represent the Philippines? She could be somewhere else focusing entirely on her professional career, but she chose to show up and play for the flag.
And can we PLEASE acknowledge that the players on the other side of the net are also elite athletes who came here aiming for the exact same GOLD? They trained for this. They sacrificed for this. They want it just as badly. Alex is playing against athletes who are also fighting to win.
I really wanted to stay in full celebratory mode, but I canโt help pointing out how some Filipinos are becoming increasingly entitled to Alex Ealaโs professional career, as if every match she plays for the country comes with an obligation to deliver us a GOLD medal.
Supporting an athlete shouldnโt mean only celebrating them when they win. It should also mean giving them grace when they struggle, respecting the competition, and remembering that theyโre human beings carrying enormous expectations on their shoulders.
So I hope we learn to rally behind Alex in a healthier way, whether she wins in straight sets, survives a three-set battle, or has a day when her game simply isnโt clicking.
And most importantly, CONGRATULATIONS, ALEX! ๐ต๐ญโค๏ธ๐พ
Thank you for showing up for the Philippines, fighting for every point, and carrying our flag on another international stage.
Laban lang, Alex! Weโre rooting for you, not just for the medals, but through every match along the way. ๐ซถ๐ต๐ญ
EALA IS THROUGH! ๐ต๐ญ
