Weeks done.
Rough week. Took 5 days off in a row trying to get over sore shin. Mon-Wed was sore even walking.
Managed to get in 2h Sat & 3h today.
Still not quiet clear but a lot better now.
@runliftrunlift@dpolehn I've just done a sub 3 with just long easy runs.
Race was at 1700m altitude and the race had about 300m total elevation too.
Consistency is key multiplied by Patience.
Due to the low training impact it takes a whlle to see results and this is where most fall short.
@xolani_sibande I don't really have any other solution.
I've been rubbing deep heat before and after the run.
Foam rolling in the evening and compression sleeves for a couple of hours.
Week is done.
Rested Monday after the marathon.
Rested Friday after a double session on Thursday aggravated the sore shin.
Resting the coming Mon & Tue to clear up this sore shin once and for all. Will be rubbing, rolling and patching, probably take some anti inflammatory also
@MthunziLKDwanya @MarimaSipho@GarminSA You don't need a program.
Don't train hard, train often.
Even 3-5k daily at 8:30 per km for a month you will improve. Listen to the body and rest when tired.
Feb was a great training month, capped with a PB.
On to March 💪🏽
Rested today as the shin soreness was there even when walking around this morning.
I think the double session (am-2hrs & pm-1hr) yesterday, does not give enough time to whatever is sore to subside.
@TigerQekisi It's a pity they didn't give an example. It's always good to ask if you feel you deserve it.
Not all runners are sponsored based solely on time.
Some are sponsored for the story behind the brand (runner), their socially media presence and probably lots of other factors.
It's a PB 🔥🔥🔥
Had a good race.
The last 5km was the hardest and I couldn't relax because I could see that the race boards were behind my watch so I couldn't really be sure of the time when I actually finish.
All in all enjoyable run and bang on point 🥰
@OdealTheGreat@MrTrapnlos 8th if I finish 😅.
I got my first silver last year 7:19.. Aiming for Sub 7 this year.
Up run is unforgiving.. Polly Shorts will shatter your medal aspirations like it's nothing.
Prepped and ready to go.
Undecided on shorts or tights.
Trying out Maurten gels since I have been hearing good things about them.
10 hours to show time.
Sub 3 let's goooo!
@OdealTheGreat@MrTrapnlos I agree 100%. Let me justify 😅.
Reasoning behind this decision:
#1 These Maurten gels are not cheap and I can't afford taking a R80 gel in training 😅
#2 The Ultimate Goal is a great performance in Comrades, so I also needed to test them in race conditions.
