A salary cap will only heighten the Dodgers' advantages in areas like drafting and player development.
Where will the goalpost shift to next? It's unfair the Dodgers have so many smart execs so there should be a salary cap for front office employees?
In January 2025, the Reds acquired Gavin Lux from the Dodgers in exchange for Mike Sirota and a Competitive Balance Round A pick in the 2025 Draft. The Dodgers used the pick on OF Charles Davalan.
Sirota (#14) and Davalan (#67) are now both Top 70 prospects in baseball. Lux had 0.3 War in his only season as a Red and is now a Ray.
Just insane stuff from the Dodgers
Based on his comments and him taking live batting practice for the first time, the guy is clearly in a mental rut.
Which is kind of crazy because he barely gets any attention/scrutiny being on this roster with all the big names.
Been on record as being skeptical about keeping both Chet and JDub long term. This was foreseeable for a long while.
Obviously you're not trading BOTH guys for Giannis, but OKC needs to get assets back for one of them. Probably Chet.
MLB response: โWe appreciate the union making a set of proposals and we look forward to continuing the bargaining process and working towards solving the competitive balance problem our fans are telling us needs to be addressed. We understandย their proposals are designed to benefit players. Unfortunately, they do not address and in fact exacerbate the competitive balance problem our fans are telling us we must address. The MLBPAโs proposal would reduce the amount transferred to lower-revenue Clubs, weaken the Competitive Balance Tax, and lead to even more payroll disparity than exists today. For example, under the Unionโs proposal, the Dodgers would pay less in luxury tax payments, giving them an additionalย $70 million to spend on payroll.โ
First article of the super fun draft collab with Lakers draft OG @CanyonDriver.
What should the Lakers do with the No. 25 pick?
The value, the history, the flexibility, and the different paths in front of the Lakers this offseason.

MLB is literally playing into Dodger Derangement Syndrome so they can stabilize expenses and line go up more consistently without effort. And people are dumb enough to let it work, watch.
โ No chemical leak
โ No threat of explosion
โ No threat of fire
โ No risk to the public
