Before the season starts, think about the ultimate goal so you can navigate
Trying to win league/state championship?
Probably best to NOT run your top athletes in every meet or go for dual meet wins
Play the long game!
Run fast when it matters most!

GET GOOD AT THE 200M!
Personally think the 200m is the most important race for sprinters.
If you can run a fast 200m, you can be good at both 100m and 400m.
Congrats you have are now pretty much guaranteed your spot on ANY relay team going forward π€·πΏββοΈ
π£οΈ βI have a pretty big engine. I used to run cross country. I put a lot of mileage in, a lot of stuff like that. So when I dropped down to an 800, 1500 runner before, and then I dropped down to the 400 and worked on foot speed and a lot of jumps, I always had the strength.β
You know what they say: Strength = speed π€·ββοΈ
After winning the 400m Olympic title, @QuincyHall400 shares that he actually used to be a cross country runner before dropping down to the middle distance events, and ultimately, the sprints.
