If 1:56, only 6 would have qualified last year with their seed times. Seems like going to an extreme.

The VHSL executive committee voted today to change state standards to average of 3rd place finishers at State meet. The other proposal was to eliminate them. This would make the 1600- 4:22, the 800-1:56, and the 3200-9:18. This effectively does eliminate them. (Continued)

@lchsxctf @VHSL_ I also believe so many kids get left out of the XC state meet bc they don’t have team depth. My son came in 5th @states this past season; was his 1st trip. Several kids miss those individual spots yet beat the 2-3-4-5 from advancing teams.

Region 4D XC meet at Kernstown Battlefield: Girls: #JamesWood (2nd) and #Handley (3rd) both qualify as teams for state meet. #JamesWood top local boys’ team but finish 4th, one spot out of states. Four local boys and one other local girl heading to states individually
