As the 2025/26 season ends, reflecting on my first year as Manager of Runcorn Sports FC. We started strongly, sitting 2nd in November, but inconsistent performances saw us finish 6th.
No excuses ,we weren’t good enough, and I expect better from myself and for this club.
Positively, after last season’s relegation, I feel we’ve stabilised the club and built a strong foundation to kick on next season. Football teaches you a lot about yourself and your players. Bring on 2026/27.
We’re launching our new development team and looking for players to join us!
Join one of our new managers , Iain on Tuesday 19th May, 6:30pm at St Clements School, Runcorn.
Our development side will compete in the Chester & Wirral League for the 26/27 season.

3 big games for the Runcorn teams today...Runcorn Linnets v Bury, Runcorn Sports in their semi final at Camalairds and of course Runcorn Town at home to Cheadle where we can win the league today.... hopefully 3 big wins and the whole town celebrating tonight 💙👌🍻⚽️🏆🌽
It’s a HUGE one today as we travel to Cammell Lairds Res. in the Haworth & Gallagher Bowl Semi-Final.
Games against Lairds are always quality and both sides going at it from the off.
Come and get behind the lads
An amateur footballer suffered a fractured skull after being attacked during a game in Liverpool on Saturday.
Richard Agbasoga, a temporary NHS worker from Ghana, was playing for Ormskirk West End against Calci FC in the Championship division of the Liverpool Premier League — the 12th tier of England’s football pyramid — when the incident took place.
Agbasoga, 27, was punched and kicked in the head after around a dozen men entered the pitch following a fracas which started when another Ormskirk West End player was headbutted in the 22nd minute.

Looking to bounce back after last week’s loss. Not good enough from us. Another tough test today at home against Maghull. Let’s put things right. Come down and get behind the lads!

We’re back at home after last week’s excellent away win! The lads are ready to build on that momentum as we welcome Bebington Kelma, just three points behind us in the table.
Come down & get behind the lads! 🔵⚫️

Another top performance from Zack Parker
One of the younger lads, but playing with real maturity and confidence. His attitude and commitment stand out every week.
Keep going, Big future ahead 🔵⚫️
A dominant 5–0 away win! 🔥
⚽ Jay x4
⚽ Ryan
Strong performances all over the pitch solid at the back, sharp up front and a clean sheet to top it off.

FT: Runcorn Sports 1–2 Mallaby
A close battle in tough conditions. Trailed at the break and conceded early in the 2nd half. Ste Wooda pulled one back to set up a tense finish.
Good luck to @TheMallaby for the rest of the season.
